Our family-friendly home by the Merced River's South Fork (Actually IN Yosemite) is beautiful in every season. Comfortable & welcoming - pets OK - with every amenity you might desire: Satellite TV, Hot tub, full laundry & kitchen, Wireless Internet (DSL), generator, linen service, central heat & air conditioning. Spend evenings on the deck BBQing on a gas grill & relaxing under the stars in the hot tub. Enjoy a hike to nearby Chilnualna Falls, or follow the many trails which lead throughout Yosemite's 1000+ sq. miles. Snowshoe, snowboard or ski at Badger Pass, see Yosemite Valley & the Giant Redwoods, eat at the historic Wawona Hotel or play golf there, go horseback riding, or visit the Living History Center. Wawona in Yosemite National Park is a wonderful place to enjoy the open & friendly character of a small town within a National Park. Everyone in town acknowledges what a special place this is to live & work. Perhaps it is the singular focus on the place- exquisitely beautiful & pristine- which gives the town its ambiance. From the one room school house with its teaching principal, to the beautiful library full of books recounting the history of the park & surrounding areas, to its general store, the Pine Tree Market, to the historic Wawona Hotel, to it's living history center and golf course, to the grove of Giant Redwoods (previous home of the famous tunnel tree before its demise in a great winter storm)- Wawona has charm and substance for everyone. If your pleasure is a quiet evening, soaking in the hot tub under the stars, you will find it at Friends Lodge. If instead you would like to visit the Valley it is an easy drive too.

In the 1930s, our town was idling along, minding its own business, when Yosemite National Park, previously a neighbor, expanded its borders & surrounded the town! Ever since, Wawona has been entirely within Yosemite. This rare situation, known as an inholding, is a fact of life for locals but makes Wawona very special. It is a privilege to live or visit here, as is reflected in the pride people take in welcoming others, enjoying & preserving the resource of the Park, & appreciating how fortunate our small town is. From Wawona, there are trails to nearby areas of great beauty, such as the South Fork of the Merced River, the Grove of Giant Redwoods, the Lower & Upper Chilnualna Falls, Meadow Loop road, etc. This is the country that Galen Clark & other Yosemite Pioneers homesteaded. There are trails that lead throughout the 1000+ square miles of Yosemite. Many hike & some ride these trails. Badger Pass & Yosemite Valley are easily reached.

Fish camp, which is about 6 miles distant, offers more fine dining and a general store.

Deposit: 50%. This is fully refundable minus a $50 registration fee, if reservation is canceled prior to 30 days out. (Deposit is otherwise forfeited.) Visa and Mastercard, certified funds, personal checks and US$ are accepted. Rates are based on 6 person reservations; additional charge for persons in excess of 6 (10 maximum). Additional charge for pets (must be well behaved!) Rates quoted do not include holidays and other peak periods. Weekends are generally higher. Please call for an exact quote for your party.
