If you desire a get away that is rural, near a gem of a city for dining, ambling and entertainment, value quiet time to renew in a space that is attractively designed, enjoy star gazing, and scenic views from the hot tub, and don't want to be in a hotel or motel, you will love our place.
When it is warm, the Yuba River at Edwards crossing (8 minutes to swimming and hiking)is one of those scenic spots often given photo ops in magazines. The approach to swimming in the river there is not hard, but could be challenging if you have gait or balance problems. Other easy to access approaches to swim, such as at Bridgeport are not far away, and many easy and some demanding hiking and biking trails are also nearby.
If it snows (2-4 times a year at our 3000 foot level), all wheel drive is necessary for a few of the ups and downs in the road to and from Nevada City. We are about an hour drive to Truckee via highway 20, for skiing and closer for other winter sports. When it snows, there is a 500 acre area area suitable for snowshoeing across the street from our property, and numerous snow shoeing and cross county skiing spots 25 minutes up highway 20 and beyond, to Truckee and Lake Tahoe.
We get 4 real seasons, and each one has its own charm. Sorry, no smoking or pets on the property. We have two poodles, but they do not go into the space. We also know the area, restaurants, etc. and can give you tips for what is currently happening.

Cell phones don't work. Closest spot is 3 minute drive or better yet, a 15 minute walk.
Broadband Internet: Satellite. Good for email and browsing, but not for movie or other large downloads.
Private Hot Tub: Mountain vistas, and night star gazing as per your interest from Hot tub. Has ozonator. Very light chemical usage.
