2 Bedroom House in Twentynine Palms

In my career as an interior designer, I do many home remodels and new construction. Meanwhile, I have been working on a house I bought for myself in the high desert community of Twentynine Palms and have been working on an expansion and renovation; new kitchen and laundry room, opening the living room to the kitchen, adding privacy fencing, a pool and jacuzzi, digging a well, and furnishing the home with 1930's vintage furniture for a Hollywood glam theme: Desert Palms.

The town of Twentynine Palms is itself historic and charming, just 35 miles east of Palm Springs and enjoying warm, sunny winter weather and spectacular night skies around a cozy firepit.

The home is situated just 3 miles from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, with great hiking, rock climbing and views to the Mexican Border.

This house is a classic example of "green" renovation. The well provides clear water for showers and faucets, "grey water" from the laundry and dishwasher to irrigate the outside, concrete floors with hemp area rugs, cotton draperies. The kitchen wall was opened to the living room to provide a large bar and pass-through and lets in natural light from the large windows and french doors. I added to the structure rather than creating a "tear-down". Fans in every room keep air circulating. Clean air is a desert asset. "Dedicated to dignified loafing" in a courtyard hammock.

Twentynine Palms is an active artists community with art walks to artist's studios scheduled several times a year. We are within a 15 minute drive to the East entrance of Joshua Tree National Park , featuring spectacular views and rock climbing and hiking trails.
