We are located in the most desirable location in Santa Barbara, the Historic West Beach Area, steps away from the beach, Stearns Wharf, Harbor, Las Banos Public Pool, World-class dining, and downtown shops, including our own local farmer's market. Leave your car and parking worries behind.

The Ocean Getaway resides in a historical turn-of-the-century building and retains the charm of the days bygone. My husband and I spent a year working with craftsmans and designers to create a unique vacation rental reflecting the style of the early 1900's and Santa Barbara. The hand cast plaster gives it both a romantic and European feeling. And the 10-foot ceilings, Waterford fireplace, hard wood and limestone floors all add to its ambiance. You will not find a comparable vacation rental for the price - quality, ammenities & location.
Exquisite antique furnishings, which date to the late 1800's, were hand selected and imported from Europe. One bedroom offers a French, queen-size, rosewood, feather bed and matching armoire. The second bedroom offers a queen-size, walnut parquet, feather bed and matching dresser and mirror.
Each bedroom is complimented with an adjoining full bath. The bathrooms are immaculate - all new with limestone floors, granite countertops, romantic tub and shower with dual showerheads, and custom Santa Barbara-style cabinets.
The kitchen is a chef's dream. It has granite counter tops, limestone floors, and custom cabinets made by our own local cabinetmaker, PJ Mulligan. It has state-of-the-art appliances - SubZero refrigerator, Wolf's Chef top stove, convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, and, of course, a washer and dryer.
The living room is grand and warm - a great gathering area with a Waterford fireplace to add to its ambiance. It has a custom-built entertainment center, which houses a 36-inch HDTV, DVD/DVR and stereo. A down-filled leather couch (queen-size sleeper) from Australia was brought in to accompany the two over-stuffed Venetian chairs. High speed wireless internet access is also available for your convenience.
Enjoy the views, through the glass doors, to the courtyard and grand Italian fountain. The private courtyard has abundant flowers and green shrubbery that can be enjoyed on chaise lounges and dining table and chairs. A large gas grill has also been provided for enjoyment of our local flavors.
The Ocean Getaway is a rare, high-quality, vacation destination in the heart of Santa Barbara! You will not find a comparable location and quality vacation rental for the price in Santa Barbara.
(A few helpful hints when comparing us to others. The Ocean Getaway is on the ground floor, 1 level, with FULL bathrooms and bedrooms, NO lofts or stairs. We also offer private reserved parking, as opposed to parking on the street which is a challenge being so close to the beach. Finally, we are not located on a commercial thorough fare, next to the Highway (APS or 101) or railroad tracks. We are in an upscale residential enclave in the West Beach Area, in Santa Barbara, 2 blocks to the Beach and State Street.)
