Vacation Rental Description
Come & discover one of the best beaches in California- located in the quaint little town of Avila. The south-facing beach is perfect for laying out in the sun, surfing, body boarding or swimming. It is much warmer, less foggy & more serene than surrounding beaches. It typically averages a high of 70 to 75 degrees most of the year with cooler evenings. Our 2 units are a short walk to the ocean. The 2 fully furnished units are each slightly different. The unit featured here is the "PALM" unit. It has this name because it is decorated in a beach-palm tree style. This unit has a queen bed in each of the 2 bedrooms. It also has a sofa sleeper in the living room. The living room has a 3-sided fireplace for warmth & ambiance as well as a television with cable and a DVD player. The kitchen has everything we could think of to make your stay enjoyable- pots, pans, glassware, wine glasses, plates, bowls, eating utensils, blender, coffee maker, measuring cups, bowls for serving, electric griddle, ice maker in refrigerator, bake ware, toaster oven, microwave, dishwasher, dish soap, kitchen towels, ETC. The private deck has a beautiful ocean view. Sit at the patio table with a glass of wine while you cook your fresh fish on the gas grill. Of course, there is also a dining room off the kitchen with a table and chairs. 
 
Avila has 2 public piers for fishing or just an evening stroll. If you like outdoor evenings, bring wood for the fire pit at Port San Luis (less than 2 miles away) for a bonfire. You can catch whale watching or fishing excursions from Port San Luis also. There is a fun Fish & Farmers Market every Friday night from April through September on the ocean boardwalk. They have great food, a live band, face painting, a bounce house, fresh produce, fresh flowers, organic goodies, lots of nice people and a fun time! This is the place you can buy the best kettle corn you have ever tasted. All the locals eat at Fat Cat's Restaurant (at Port San Luis) or at their booth (at Farmers). If you visit the pier at Port San Luis, there is a fresh fish market, an upscale restaurant on the end of the pier, dozens of seals and sea lions basking on the pier landings and plenty of places to put your fishing pole in the water for no charge. It is hard to find free activities these days! It is fun just to walk on the pier, watch the seals & birds & otters, watch the commercial fishing boats come in and unload, watch the fishermen clean their catch or to just hang out in the clean, fresh ocean air.  
 
The crowds have not yet discovered all that Avila has to offer. It is a short drive to some of the best wine country in the nation- including Santa Ynez and Paso Robles. If you like the excitement of the Pismo dunes, you are minutes away. If you have a student at Cal Poly, it is a short drive also. Downtown has a fun little park for the smaller kids as well as beach volleyball nets set up for the older kids. There is something for everyone at Avila Beach! 
 
Come & visit us for a few days or weeks. We offer special rates in winter for longer stays. The rentals are 6 years old & most units are booked by return vacationers. Each unit has wireless internet, cable TV & a phone for local calls. Bath towels, bed linens and a fully furnished kitchen are all part of the deal. You can book a room at a hotel or have a 1200 sq. ft. apartment. Call for availability & book a unit for the best vacation you’ve ever had!

Coin operated washers and dryers are available to guests. Unit has a 2-car garage with a garage door opener. On the deck, there is a gas BBQ grill as well as a patio table and chairs for your outside enjoyment. Living room is upstairs and has a 3-sided fireplace for warmth and ambiance.

Everything is fairly close by. There are lakes within a 20 minute drive for wakeboarding, fishing, water skiing or picnicking. The little town of Arroyo Grande has antique shops, many restaurants, frequent activities, a creek with a swinging bridge, weekly Farmers Market, an 8 complex movie theater and some great outlet stores. Arroyo Grande is next to Pismo Beach & this area is well known for the nightlife, surfing area, restaurants and sand dunes. There is so much to do in and around Avila Beach. Or, if you choose, you can just relax in your rental and enjoy quiet time with your loved ones.

The $500 Reservation Fee is to be sent with the Vacation Rental Application. This amount applies to rent. Thirty days prior to arrival, balance of rent, $125 cleaning fee, refundable $250 Security Deposit & 11% Bed Tax is due. Funds are payable with VISA, Mastercard, Discover Card or personal check. Cashiers checks are not accepted.
Return tenants receive a summer discount. Also, discounts are available for longer stays (weekly or monthly)- especially in winter.
Cancellation Policy: For cancellations more than 90 days prior to arrival, there is a fee of $100. For cancellations less than 90 days but more than 30 days, you will be charged the amount of the Reservation Fee. There are no refunds for cancellations less than 30 days prior to arrival. Should the property re-rent with no lost days, there will be a full rent refund but $50 will be deducted from the Security Deposit fort time and paperwork.

We have had ties to Avila Beach since we were very young. Jan's family has owned property in the town since the mid 1950's. Once Danny met Jan, he also began spending a great deal of time in Avila and he loved it also. For many years, there was no building allowed in town because of a lack of water but once that changed, we built our beautiful apartments. We wanted to share the beauty and tranquility of the area with others. The warm summer days, balmy winter days, calm evenings and beautiful views are too good not to share. Avila Beach has a very special place in our heart. We are sure it will hold special memories for you also. We built our rental (completed in November 2005) with you in mind- comfortable, open, bright and welcoming. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we do. We will do our best to see to it that you do!
