- Travel Info: Angel's Rest Cottage is adjacent to The Little River Canyon National Preserve, one of the newest National Preserves in the nation. The area abounds with beautiful waterfalls and amazing vistas. We are located about 15 miles south of DeSoto State Park and 20 miles south of the quaint village of Mentone. Visit the Alabama fan club and museum in Fort Payne, and check out the area's largest flea and farmers market on Saturday morning in nearby Collinsville. If you enjoy fishing, Weiss Lake, the 'Crappie Capitol of the World' is within 10 miles. True Adventure Sports offers many exciting guided adventures such as rock climbing, rappelling, cave exploration and kayaking. Orbix Glass, about 10 minutes away features a world-renowned glass blower and the shop has some truly unique and interesting pieces. Chattanooga is within an hour's drive. See Rock City, Ruby Falls and the Tennessee Aquarium. The Incline Railway, Point Park, and Chickamauga Battlegrounds are also worth a visit.
