Located in the best part of the city, the apartment enjoys great views over historic Guapulo. It is our own personal apartment, which we use for periodic visits to Ecuador (we are based in the United Kingdom), and we endeavour to maintain it in tip-top condition. It is situated in a peaceful part of the city away from the noise and pollution of the colonial centre, but within easy reach of both the old and new parts of Quito. 
 
It is a good base for anyone staying in Quito for a week or more -perhaps to enroll on an intensive Spanish course, or simply unwind before traveling on in South America. 
 
The apartment is fully furnished and should have most things you need for a comfortable stay. It has one bedroom with double bed, living room with double bed-settee and a well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar facing the living room. The bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there is a further toilet and laundry room.

• Wifi internet -bring your own laptop. 
• Cable TV in bedroom.

The flat is gorgeous we absolutely love having the haven in the mountains it feels so different from down in the city. We are far too comfortable there it would be easy not to go out. Jim has been really helpful and gave us a contact for a tour operator that he knows so we booked our Galapagos trip today and are going from 11th -18th December. We will leave Quito again on the 19th heading for Banos where we plan to cycle into the jungle, do a rafting trip and wallow in hot springs. We will probably be in Otavalo region for Christmas and hopefully with be able to stay in the Casa Mojanda. I really fancy the horse riding in the mountains." 
 
"A wonderful property in a very convenient location - easy walking distance of a few restaurants/bars, panaderias, shops, internet cafes,... The views over the Cumbaya valley are truly awesome - I wonder where the vultures landed to feed. The wildlife outside the picture windows kept us enthralled - did the bright yellow, black and white grossbills ever settle down and breed? How do hummingbirds manage to keep their wings moving so fast? Are the butterflies really that colourful? The apartment is very well appointed and in excellent decorative order. Ruthy and her son Jorge were very helpful with the transfers. Would definitely recommend - apart from the period I want to book for next time!"

The living area is simply furnished with the settee and two wooden swivel chairs. There is also a dining table that can accommodate up to six people. The bedroom has a large storage wardrobe, cable TV and VHS video player plus small Sony radio alarm clock. You will find spare towels and change of bedding in the wardrobe. Kitchen equipment includes: calor gas cooker, fridge-freezer, electric grill, juicer, toaster, cooking pots, crockery and cutlery for 6 people. Cleaning equipment includes a tumble dryer, vacuum cleaner and drying line. The apartment is located at the top of the steep winding road down to Guapulo. The village has a bohemian atmosphere and is a popular location for local artists. Take a walk down to the bottom where you will find the Santuario de Guapulo, Quito's oldest church, and also taxis for your return back up! 
 
Nearby is Hotel Quito -you can join their fitness/pool club on a daily basis. The popular bar Mirador de Guapulo is only a short distance, and offers live music and bar snacks in the evening. The view from here is fantastic -if you are lucky enough to visit on a clear day you can see the volcano Cayambe in the distance. 
 
At the top of the road you can wander along Av Gonzales Suarez, Quito's most prestigious residential street, where there are a number of shops and restaurants. For a couple of dollars a taxi will take you to the Mariscal tourist district with its many bars and restaurants, or to the World Heritage colonial city.

Bookings can be made online by credit card. The price is inclusive of all service charges -condominium, electricity, local telephone, cable tv and internet access. It also includes a weekly visit by the maid to clean the apartment and change the bedding and towels.
