CATUAMA- the house

The property is set up on a hillside 100m from the beach, with a panoramic view of the sea. Set in its own mature garden, the house has 3 bedrooms (2 ensuite) and can sleep 7 people. The large master bedroom has a study area, ensuite bathroom and air conditioning. The main guest room has a double bed, ensuite bathroom and ceiling fan. The third bedroom has a double bed and a pullout single bed, with a ceiling fan. The main living room contains a dining area seating 6 and a comfortable sitting room with TV, dvd,radio and cd player.

The house has been recently re furbished and has a well equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave. The house is light, cool and well ventilated. The large veranda surrounding the house has hammocks and sets of tables and chairs. The garden has a barbecue and a volleyball court. The house is surrounded by a mature garden.

The rental includes electricity and water, bedlinen and the use of crockery and cutlery. The caretaker lives behind the property and is always available to sort out any practical problems in the house or garden. A cook/cleaner can be provided if required.

The beach is unspoilt, with very little tourist development, and the few bars and small shops are run by local families. The bars sell tasty and well prepared home-made seafood, and the shops are mini-markets with most basic provisions. The village is very quiet and perfectly safe, with virtually no crime. Boat trips and sailing are available. Catuama has a very stable and comfortable climate with temperatures between 24-32 deg C. Rainy season is Jul/Aug.

Catuama is a fishing village 75 km north of Recife, situated on a promontory between the Atlantic Ocean and the river Goiana. The journey from Recife airport takes 1.5 hours, and 3 hours from Natal airport - transfers can be arranged if required. Pontas de Pedra is the nearest town 4 km away, with a ATM, post office, health centre, bakery, pharmacy and supermarkets. Fresh vegetables, fruit and fish can be bought from the market. The historic town of Goiana is 25km away, with well preserved monuments and colonial buildings. 6km away is the Ecological Reserve of Aparauá. Further up the coast is the beautiful Tambaba beach, the only naturist beach in the Northeast of Brazil.
