Casa Serena, a newly renovated Merida Colonial is a perfect home for a Merida visit. Located around the corner from the Merida English Library and 3 blocks from the Plaza Mayor and Zocalo, Casa Serena offers her guests lots of colonial charm; original pasta floors, large rooms, high ceilings, and interesting arches in addition to all the modern conveniences. There are 2 air conditioned bedrooms, one with a pillow top king and the other with 2 pillow top twins that can also convert to a king. There is a full size futon for 2 more additional sleeping accommodations. Every room is also equipped with ceiling fans for living and sleeping comfort. Two bathrooms with spacious showers are decorated in Talavera tile ( 1 bath is ensuite with the master). A large Tikul and Talavera tiled kitchen, equipped with a 4 burner stove, micro, blender and coffee pot, overlooks a large screened dining terrace that comfortably seats 6. Both open to a a lovely patio with table, chairs, shade umbrella and lounge chairs. The garden, planted with tropical flowers, and fruit trees, also has a garden shower for cooling off and is completely walled for privacy. There is also a second garden patio with seating shaded by some vibrant bougainvilleas. A CD player, all linens, purified bottled water for cooking, and a charcoal grill is provided. Cable TV and Internet service are also available. Parking is street side. There is also an English speaking manager to greet you and assist in any way.
