5,500sqft, (3) story home at the BEACH, 5 en-suites, 6 bathrooms, filtered pool, quiet, easy access to and 50 yards to the beach. Maid service weekly or as required.

‘CASTILLO NICTE-HA’ VILLA, built in 2006. This lovely home has (3) floor levels. King bed on the GROUND and PENTHOUSE levels. 3 suites on the SECOND level. Big pool, steps to the sandy beach and warm Gulf Ocean. Brilliant ocean and sunset views.

The Villa is a perfect base to explore nearby Mayan ruins and historic capital city of Merida, with its charm, restaurants, night clubs and shopping etc.
Twenty minutes drive to the nearest Mayan archaeological site.

Total occupancy could be 14+with 2 sofa beds.
GROUND floor: Sliding glass doors give access to the pool area. Wheel chair accessible shower, handrails. King bed or twins. Outside beach shower. BBQ. AC. Full kitchen. Dining table seats 8, plus 4 more at the bar.
SECOND level: Three bedrooms, each with ceiling fan, shower and bathroom. Two suites with Queen beds, open onto a huge 25'x 20' partially covered sun deck. The 3rd suite has a King bed or twins. Full kitchen, living room. Dining table seats 6 or more. BBQ. AC.
PENTHOUSE: AC. Spacious. Romantic private suite and terrace. Ocean views and lovely sunsets on the large terrace, over looking the pool and ocean. BBQ. Wonderful for entertaining with great views. Dining table seats 6 plus 4 more in the kitchen.
Each floor level is self contained, with living, dining room, FULL kitchen and separate entrance.
All three floors can be combined into one superb Villa, perfect for family or group vacations.

The Villa is located 7 miles east of Progreso and 1 mile east of Chicxulub Puerto, a quiet fishing village.
Many Mayan archaeological sites and ruins nearby on the Yucatan Peninsula. World famous Chitzen Itza is a 2 hour drive. Uxmal, 1 hour. Campeche, a fortress town, is 2 hours.
Explore small villages, Colonial towns, cenotes (underground swimming pools),and remains of grand Hacienda's of the Spanish era. Roads are good.
Cancun, Cozumel and Mexican Riviera are 4 hour by toll road.
Bird watchers, 1000's of pink flamingos nest on local lagoons.

English speaking tour guides available for Mayan ruins and exploring. Tours to Cenotes, amazing underground pools for cave swimming.

In the early 1900's, vast Hacienda ranches produced sisal rope from Henekin, a cactus plant, but most Haciendas died out with the introduction of man made fibers. Some Haciendas still exist and are worth touring.
A must visit is the capital city of Yucatan, MERIDA, 30 minutes drive. Stroll the main plaza where, on Sunday afternoon and Monday evenings, Folkloric dancing shows take place in the main square on Monday evenings at 8pm.
Many Mayan sites and ruins are within easy driving distance.
Jungle canoeing
A new casino opened in 2010, in Merida, approximately 20 minutes drive.

Well, we had the most amazing time. Your place was a joy, and I did 40 laps in the pool almost everyday. There was just so much to do. We enjoyed Merida at night, and also Progresso. We loved the "Yucatan beach " club and also Celestun with amazing ceviche, as a respite from climbing over amazing pyramids in the mid day sun.
The only thing not back to normal is our stomachs, but they should recover soon as we got the antibiotics yesterday. No we never drank any water, we are just gringos... but it was all worth it.
Also , embarrassingly, my husband lost the little paper they give you when you arrive, so they would not let us leave Merida on Easter Sunday, as there was apparently no one available to do the paperwork. We drove to Cancun in a rental car, and 23 hours later ( and $600 ) we were home, guess that "learned" him. Seeing the Cancun airport reinforced just how lucky we were to be at your place.
Thank you for a most cherished vacation that we would never have had with out you.

WE are so happy! 4/17/11
Your place is absolutely wonderful, everything is perfect, and I am in love with George Jr.(haha).
We went dancing last night in Progresso with the locals until 2, music was  Cumbia-ish, but they had their own style and taught us!
I was clearly the only blue eyed one in the place, and Paul is 6'-4, but they were so friendly.

Your house is really beautiful though and everything was great! Some of the things we did were: Celestun, Merida (spent a night), San Ignacia cenote, the three cenotes where you go on the horse
ride (very cool!) Uxmal pyramids and checked out Progreso pretty good
(but it was very quiet) and the nearby areas Coco Beach, etc.

Hello Stan and Annie,
We are back home. We came back with great souvenirs from our trip. Your Castillo es
magnifico! It was like on the pictures. We were a little bit scared at the beginning but we will
recommend your place without a doubt. Lucio and Martha were very nice and Licia is beautiful.
We cuddle her a lot. We passed a lot of time out of the house ; Progreso, Merida, Uman, San
Igniacio, Telchac…we visited. My children appreciate their house, and food more now.
We didn’t really understand about paying for the cleaning but Martha said that we had to pay her.
So we gave her 50$ us for the week like you asked us but when I came back home I realised that
you said that you would deduct it from the security deposit…so now it is already paid. We gave
them extra money too and gifts for the baby.

Thank you so much, it was a great experience. We are looking to buy a house in Mexico. We
visited but nothing as beautiful as yours.

As junior senior citizens, we have visited Mexico many times over the past
30-odd years, including resort hotels on both coasts and small coastal
villages. We've seen the Mexico destinations the travel brochures rave about
and the "real Mexico" that budget guidebooks describe.
What we were looking for on our most recent trip to Mexico was peace and
quiet, without any rumbling trucks, honking horns, or Activities Directors
shouting "Volleyball in 5 minutes." And we found it - in spades - in the
penthouse at Castillo Nicte Ha, in Chicxulub, Yucatan.
The apartment is spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Hosts Stanley and
Anie Gardner seem to have thought of just about everything we needed in the
kitchen. And it was an easy drive into Progreso, just 9 miles away, to shop
in the excellent local supermarket, (San Francisco de Assissi) which helped
keep our dining costs down. We also enjoyed the occasional night out in one
of Progreso's beachside restaurants.
For anyone who prefers "off the beaten path" accommodation, in its most
agreeable and relaxing sense, we thoroughly recommend the Castillo Nicte Ha.
