Hola! Our names are Nadya and Roger and we warmly welcome you to our Casa La Vía! Over the years, our family travelled in search of sun and sand .. not something that is easily found in Canada! We found the perfect mix of sun, sand, culture and friendly people right here in Akumal. We invite you to share our magical tropical paradise on your next vacation.
With long term retirement plans in mind, we found our ideal spot in a new hotel development, called the Sirenis, which featured for the first time, a residential section with individual lots for sale.
We bought the land in December 2005, hired a local Mexican architect in April, 2006 and worked with him on the design of the house over the summer. Building started in October 2006 and 9 months later, the villa was completed. In July 2007, we entered a brand new and very empty Casa La Vía and spent that month of July furnishing it. We completed decorating it over the Christmas 2007 holidays. We have been renting it when we are not using it since January 2008.
With our secluded jungle setting, we feel as if we are truly away from it all from morning to night! The tropical birds serenade us as we enjoy our leisurely breakfast under the palapa. At nighttime, we head to our rooftop terrace to stargaze and count the shooting stars!
As part of the new Sirenis Resort Complex, we are within walking distance of a naturally preserved turtle-nesting beach, lagoon and cenote. There is a paved jogging path and we enjoy the services of the Sirenis security guards who control the entrance and patrol the area 24 hours a day. We love to pamper ourselves with spa treatments at the new ultra luxurious spa at the Grand Sirenis Hotel, a minute away from the villa.
We have Property Managers who take care of our place who speak English. They meet all our guests to explain the running of the house, answer questions, etc. We also have a housekeeper and gardener 6 days a week, who take care of the house, garden and pool areas (so there are no beds to make, just like at a hotel!)Our housekeeper is also available to cook some meals - a great way to sample authentic Yucatecan cooking!
We are only a few minutes from Akumal, a laid-back beach town where you will find a variety of restaurants and quaint shops. This is where the turtles come to nest from May to August. Year-round, you can swim with the turtles simply by swimming out from the shore! They are quite majestic!
We are located right in the heart of where many of the attractions of the Riviera Maya are found, making for very easy access for day trips. Mayan ruins, 15 picturesque cenotes and a variety of the best beaches in the Riviera Maya are only a 5-20 minute drive away!
