Vacation Rental Description
This beautiful condo in North Akumal sits right on Half Moon Bay, and is right on the beach. The home is on the 3rd floor, so allyou have to do is walk down the stairs, pass by the pool and you are on the beach. The home was upgraded 4 years ago to new flooring, Mexican marble showers, new countertops. Each bedroom has A/C to be used for sleeping, and a TV/DVD/Video player for watching movies (which some are available in the unit for no charge) In 2008 the main ocean side balcony was extended out 5 ft for more room. Half Moon bay offers wonderful snorkeling, with turtles, rays and many fish as frequent visitors. La Lunita restaurant is in our building and is the finest restaurant in all of Akumal.
Facilities
There is a TV/DVD player in each bedroom in a movable cabinet. There is no direct TV service, but movies are available both in our home and in the office. A/C is in each bedroom, and is for sleeping only. The A/C units will not cool the main living areas, as there are ceiling fans to help with that. We ask that you not attempt to cool the remainder of the unit with the A/C. There is a stereo in the main living area, and a assortment of CD's to play. The pool is available and is shared with La Mirage (our sister unit). There is daily maid service 7 days a week. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you should need if you decide to prepare your owns meals. A fresh market is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Groceries are expensive in Akumal, and it is suggested you stop at a grocery in Playa del Carmen as you drive down from Cancun. There is a WalMart, Sam's Club, in Playa as well as Chedraui, Soriano, and Mega grocery stores.
Activities
Yal-Kul lagoon a fresh lagoon is just around the corner from this home and offers a unique snorkeling or swimming experience for a minimal cost. La Buena Vida is the local bar/restaurant for North Akumal and offers a vry unique atmosphere with many exotic drinks.
There a 5 restaurants within walking distance of our home, and many more with short drive. Aktun Chen a walking cave experience is down the road (Mexico 307) about 5 miles.
The nearest golf courses are Bahia Principe, Puerto Adventuras (9 holes) and Playacar in Playa del Carmen. Generally speaking golf is expensive in Mexico

- Nearest Airport : Cancun at 120 kilometers distance;
- Nearest Train Station : None at 0 kilometers distance
- Nearest Town : Akumal Pueblo at 2 kilometers distance
- Travel Info: Akumal is a quiet and smaller pueblo about 20 minutes south of Playa Del Carmen via Mexico 307. We highly recommend that you travel from the airport via a rental car so that you may experience many of the historical sites and other attractions in the area. Akumal can also be reached by bus from Cancun or by taxi. A taxi is the most expensive option with costs ranging around $90 US. You can also go in a van with other people for a smaller fee. A bus will cost about $25 US but it will drop you off on Mexico 307/Akumal about a 2 Kilometer walk then to our unit.

All rentals must go through Mexico, through our office to insure proper payment of Mexican taxes. A deposit of 50% of the total rental fees is required at the time of the initial reservation. The balance is due 30 days prior to arrival. All payments are done by credit cards. Christmas and New Years rates are $300/night US and run from Dec 19, to Jan 1. US Thanksgiving Week Nov 22-28 is charged at holiday season rate. There is no refunds for bad weather, hurricanes or other acts of God beyond the control of the management. EFFECTIVE JAN 1, 2010 TAXES OF 14% WILL BE ADDED ON TO THE BASIC RENTAL RATE STRUCTURE
