2 Bedroom House in Patzcuaro

Patzcuaro is one of the most charming and traditional areas of Mexico. In this "Pueblo Magico" the main plaza "maybe the most beautiful in Mexico" is only a 5 minute walk from the house. The central historic areas of this charming pueblo are easily navigated on foot. You will discover restaurants, shops, churches, museums, and an authentic architecture from a traditional and tranquil time. The lake of Patzcuaro and surrounding mountains covered in hues of rich green crowned by a picturesque sky create an incredible landscape. Many of the villages that surround the lake feature a variety of arts and crafts.

Preservation of the original architectural structure and design of this colonial era home has remained intact. Along with modern necessities like plumbing and electricity the new kitchen and bathroom have Talavera tiles, wall heaters in bedrooms, a fire place in living room, and the sky lights help brighten up the rooms.

The house has two independent self contained residences separated by an open patio and garden. Please contact owner for information about the smaller (one bedroom) rental. The larger residence has two bedrooms (traditional floor plans are designed so that each room opens onto the next) one with a queen size bed and the other with two twin size (day bed with pull-out mattress). These bedrooms have wall heaters and antique wardrobes for storage. The kitchen which was recently updated with locally crafted tiles is fully equipped and has a dining table for six. There is a service room between the kitchen and bathroom. The shower in the bathroom has been recently tiled. The large living room features a gas fireplace with a plush sofa, chairs, armoire, tables and TV. The patio and covered porch areas include a wide variety of potted plants and the garden incorporates many large and lush plantings that surround the lawn area. It is a pleasure to sit out in the warmth of the sun, to read a book, or have a drink and experience the ambience of the environment.

This home is fully furnished with antique furniture, oriental rugs, contemporary art and regional Mexican arts and crafts that combine to create a comfortable and interesting environment. This house was put together as a retreat for family and friends and now also for a few other vacationers.

Parking is available in a secured parking lot by day week or month (pension) close by the house. Both bedrooms have gas wall heaters and living room has a gas fireplace. There are many stores for great shopping of quality arts and crafts. Large stores where most of what you might desire are available in Morelia (capital city in state of Michoacan an hour away. Cable TV and internet service are available for a fee. Elizeth comes twice a week to clean and changes linen once a week. The gardener comes twice a month. The kitchen is fully supplied for cooking and dining at the house.

Morelia which is about an hour drive away is a large city that has most of the amenties found in any city. Golfing, zoo, and cinema are available in Morelia. The new health club in Patzcuaro Via Del Rey is the best in town. There are many options for resturants and shopping in Patzcuaro. The state theate and other cultural centers and churches offer music performances. Just sitting in one of the plazas or your garden can be a tranquil activity too.
