Vacation Rental Description
Alondra is one of only eleven privately-owned condominiums in one of the most architecturally stunning buildings in Los Muertos, Old Town, Puerto Vallarta. Just one block above and overlooking the beach, passers-by stop & admire this lovely building. Some call it the "piano building" - white, curvilinear, rich in details and stepped back up a green hillside. The ambience is quiet and adult-oriented. It is also gay/lesbian friendly. Some low railings and unsupervised pool make the building unsuitable for children. The rooftop deck enjoys unobstucted, panoramic ocean, beach and city views. Sunset and even whale-watching are spectacular! This condominium building is wonderfully managed. Your rental rate includes an honest, friendly, English-speaking daytime Manager, daily maid service and nighttime security guard. The building is securely gated. You have keys for the front gate, Alondra and a private lockbox.
Since 1990, we have owned and operated one of Vancouver, Canada's most successful downtown bed and breakfasts. Alondra is our own personal getaway. It offers you the same professional reliability and attention to detail that has earned the trust of many thousands of satisfied return B & B guests. We hope that our Bed and Breakfast's facility to use Visa/MasterCard will add to the convenience of your rental experience.
Alondra is on the third floor, just behind the dipping pool and the red bougainvillea visible in our exterior photo. An easy zig-zag set of stairs leads up the outside of the building to enter our level of the building directly. The pool deck itself is equipped with wrought iron table and chairs as well as comfy loungers. The pool deck is shared by two small studio units. It is perfect for eating breakfast outside, checking your email on our free WIFI, enjoying an afternoon lie-down or evening drinks. From this deck as well as the rooftop deck, you can enjoy ocean and beach views. From inside Alondra, you can view the ocean, pool, neighbouring red-tiled and charmingly domed rooftops.
Alondra is non-smoking and air-conditioned when necessary. The spacious living/dining and kitchen area is open concept and features three large opening windows. Casablanca ceiling fans are also overhead. You can stay connected with cable TV(27" flat-screen), both ADSL & WIFI & a nice little sound system with MP-3 plug-in.
The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a refrigerator, gas stovetop, electric toaster oven, microwave, coffeemaker, watercooler, toaster, slowcooker, blender, and juicer. An iron & ironing board too. All dishes, cutlery, and utensils are included. Vallarta's municipal water is rated perfectly safe but large bottles of water are available via our Manager.
A large archway opens into a spacious bedroom. The bedroom features a huge arched window, plenty of closet space, a clock-radio and in-room safe. All towels and linens are included.
The en-suite bathroom is roomy, attractively tiled and features a shower with a bench seat and an original stained glass window. An electric hairdryer is supplied.
This moderately-priced Condominium, this beautiful building, this convenient location will confirm that it is really where you want to be in magical Vallarta! Besides the nearby beach( just 2 minutes walk!), you are three blocks stroll along safe, cobblestoned streets to the lively Olas Altas area. Local grocery stores, drugstores, trendy coffeeshops, internet cafes, some of Vallarta's finest dining, live theatre, clubs, and nightlife are all available. The colourful mix of genuine Mexico and international visitors ensure a friendly greeting and helpful response wherever you go.
Facilities
Our rents INCLUDE daily maid service(if you want it), a daytime onsite Manager and a night-time security guard. The building provides fresh towels and sheets to all units but you should bring your own beach-towels or buy locally. Instead of a towel, we recommend the colourful nylon wraps that are sold by beach vendors. They feature tropical patterns, serve to wrap & dry yourself, cover beach chairs, dry quickly and fold up incredibly small to take home as a souvenir. Guest laundry can be taken to a nearby "lavateria" for inexpensive, same-day service. We have a few covered, guest parking spaces, freely available on a first-come, first-served basis and plenty of free street parking directly in front of the building.
Activities
Our neighbourhood is identified by Los Muertos beach and the main commercial street, Olas Altas. Alondra is two minutes walk to the beach down a handy staircase, directly in front of our building. INSIDE Alondra, you have two views of the beach and the ocean. Step out Alondra's door onto the pool-deck and you can look down on Los Muertos between the famous Blue Chairs Hotel and the Blue Seas Resort. We enjoy easy access to the beach "scene" but escape the vendors, party noise and traffic. In our building, you will fall asleep to only the sound of the surf!
There is a convenience store just half a block from us. Safely strolling the three blocks towards the busy cafes, live theatre, clubs & shops of Olas Altas, you pass many tempting restaurants & local services(car rental, tour companies). Taxis sit a few yards from our door. The nearest city bus-stop is 5 blocks. So much better than being stranded in some distant, package hotel!
