Vacation Rental Description
The ByresEquipped and furnished to a high standard through-out - Sleeps 2 - 6 persons + cot.
The Byres self-catering cottage is double glazed and has electric storage heaters throughout. All electricity, coal, logs, bed linen and towels are included in the rental.
Upstairs:
The upstairs area consists of 3 good sized bedrooms, 1 kingsize, 1 double and 1 twin, a shared bathroom, linen cupboard and landing area.
All the bedrooms are furnished with pine furniture consisting of bed, bed side cabinets with lamps, wardrobe, dressing table, chair and chest of drawers. All the beds are fully made up on your arrival. Electric storage heaters are in all the bedrooms and electric blankets for all beds are provided. There are exposed beams in all the bedrooms.
The double bedroom enjoys views up Simons Fell towards Ingleborough.
The bedrooms share the bathroom which has a bath, separate shower, toilet and wash basin. Towels and toilet roll are provided in the rental.
Staying with children
A cot, highchair, stair gate, fireguard, toilet seat and step and a small selection of toys are provided.
Outside:
The Byres is set back from the main road in a courtyard setting next to Selside farmhouse (away from the farmyard). There is parking for 2 cars on a cobbled area next to the property.
The outside area consists of a private secluded multi level patio area with mature rockery garden which can be accessed from the lounge. The patio is ideal for relaxing with a good book or unwinding after a hard day. A good range of patio furniture is provided allowing for outdoor eating along with a charcoal BBQ and washing line.
There is another smaller sheltered patio seating area at the side of the cottage. Next to the parking area is a separate mature, walled, shrubbery garden with lawn, garden furniture and childrens swings.
A lockable building is provided for guests use which contains a tumble dryer and is ideal for storing bikes and drying waterproofs.
Facilities
The downstairs of the property consists of a spacious well equipped kitchen with a dining area, electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster, iron and radio. T-towels and washing up liquid are included. Tea, Coffee and milk are provided for your arrival. A tumble dryer is available for guests use in a building outside where bikes can also be stored.
There is a comfortable lounge room with exposed beams, open coal fire, an alternative electric fire, Flat screen TV with Sky Freeview and DVD player. A selection of DVD's, books and childrens toys is also provided. Perfect for relaxing after a hard day walking or sightseeing. The lounge room also has access to the rear patio garden.
The traditionally furnished dining room has a dining table with seating for 6 people, CD player with a selection of CD's and a sideboard stocked with a selection of books and board games. There is access from the dining room to a seating area to the side of the property.
Travel Options
- Travel Info: From the A65 take the road to Settle and pick up the B6479 to Horton-in-Ribblesdale.
After 5 miles go through Horton-in-Ribblesdale and on for about 3 miles to Selside.
Once in the hamlet look out for a red telephone box on the right. Turn right on the track towards the black and white house (Selside Farm)
The Byres is to the left of the black and white house. The owner lives in the right part of the black and white house (Selside Farmhouse). The Byres key is available from here.
