Home to the famous Bronte sisters, the small village of Haworth and its surrounding moorland inspired such novels as Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. Nowadays, this charming little village is home to a myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets helping to create a period atmosphere. Nearby, the authentic steam railway - Worth Valley Railway - is worth a visit and was used in the film 'The Railway Children'. This regular service stops at the old village of Oxenhope and makes a fantastic day out. In addition to the railway the area also hosts the Museum of Rail, Bronte Parsonage museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the market town of Skipton – often called the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. The elegant town of Harrogate is also close by and visitors there can enjoy the highly acclaimed ‘Betty’s Tea Rooms’ – home of ‘Yorkshire Tea’.
