Ideally placed for exploring the diverse and beautiful countryside of Yorkshire, the charming and rural village of North Cowton is an excellent base for anyone looking to holiday in the area. Within easy reach of the North York Moors, this wonderful village is situated just a short drive from the popular Swaledale market town of Richmond and boasts a proud history. Often involved in skirmishes between English and Scottish soldiers during medieval wars, there is still a field in the near vicinity called Scots Graves that serves as a poignant reminder of the battles fought there. Nowadays, this pretty little village is somewhat quieter and is primarily served by amenities in Richmond. It does, however, boast both a pleasant village green and a traditional pub which serves good food.
