5 Bedroom Farmhouse in Buckden

Our lovely 17th century farmhouse can fit 11 people comfortably, perfect for two families or a group of friends who want to holiday together. The large kitchen, with its long refectory table and Esse Oil Stove in the alcove, is ideal for those big holiday breakfasts and dinners. We have two living rooms, one with a television, video and DVD (perhaps the TV and games room for the youngsters?), the other with a CD player. One lounge has a woodburner stove and the other has an open fire. The house is in the heart of the village, just behind the village pub, the Buck Inn.

The house itself is set in a quiet courtyard, with stunning views up to Buckden Pike, the hill that rises sharply behind the village. There's an open patio with a built-in barbecue, ready for that perfect summer's evening.

Clifford House Farm is owned by a group of friends who have all fallen in love with the beauty of the valleys, lanes, villages and hills of this breathtaking part of England. We all holiday in the house ourselves, several times a year, relishing that first pint of Old Peculier and stiff walk up the path to Cray as we make the long journey up the M1! We certainly hope that you will also leave at the end of your holiday with the same fondness that we all have for the village and the dale.

There are two double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms and a tripple room. There is also a cot. The bathroom has a bath and a shower unit, and one of the double bedrooms has a second shower unit. The kitchen is well equipped, and you should find everything you need for a self-catering break. We have a Esse range stove in the kitchen (like an Aga but a different brand) which you can see in one of the photographs. But, there is also a modern electric cooker, which is a bit more practical and easier to use! Although we don't have a high chair, we do have two booster seats to place on the dining chairs which are a pretty good substitute.
