Vacation Rental Description
The Stable at Holt Farm is a generously proportioned holiday home superbly appointed for two to four guests. It has undergone a complete transformation from traditional farm stabling to the highest standard of accommodation, with a four star rating from Visit Britain.
A stone paved patio is accessed by large oak framed glazed doors from a light and spacious living room. This room is furnished with two generous sofas, one being a comfortable double sofa bed suitable for extra guests.
An elm dining table has seating for four, and the room has additional features of an ornate spiral staircase leading to the bedroom above, stone walls and flagstone floor with under-floor heating. Entertainments include television and video, stereo/CD player, and a selection of puzzles, board and card games.
The hand crafted oak kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, fridge-freezer, Bosch washing machine and a drier, and everything for a relaxing holiday - from champagne glasses to vegetable peeler! The kitchen can be accessed through the living room or through another entrance from the Stables’ own designated car parking area.
At the top of the spiral staircase is the king-sized bedroom set in the eaves and full of natural light. The room is generously sized and furnished, with Hereford oak flooring and doors.
Leading from the bedroom is an en suite featuring a large shower enclosure, washbasin, and toilet.
The Stable has a private outdoor patio with dining table and chairs, barbeque and extensive views of the landscaped courtyard, the orchard and countryside.
The Stable is set beside Holt Farm House and they can be booked jointly with ample seating at the large oak dining table in the Farm House.

Nearby is everything you need for a fabulous holiday whether you like walking, fishing, canoeing, horse riding, castles, good food, or books. Hay-on-Wye, world famous town of books and the famous Hay Festival is just 20 minutes drive away. Within 30 minutes drive are the cathedral City of Hereford and the historic market town of Abergavenny, and there is easy access to Brecon, with its Jazz Festival, the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains, Symonds Yat, Ross On Wye, the Golden Valley, the Elan Valley, Mid Wales, South Wales and the Royal Forest of Dean.

While you are here, why not spend your days out and about. Set between the Golden Valley and the Welsh borderlands, the area is renowned for superb scenery, all year round walking and outdoor pursuits, including local quad-biking, horse riding and cycling. All can be arranged and are within 10 miles. Hereford boasts many golf courses - four are within a half hours drive!
Food is always high on the agenda at Holt Farm. Why not get your supermarket supplies delivered before your arrival? Once here we can offer you caterers, superb local frozen meals straight from your freezer to oven, Longtown shop sells everything you might need –if they don’t sell it, it’s not worth having!! Local butchers prepare home grown meats, Hereford is renowned for cider – a famous label is brewed 6 miles away.
Our guests say they would need to stay all year to walk all the nearby paths! Walk over into the Craswall valley and visit the legendary Bulls Head pub serving local food and beverages. See stunning views of the Black Mountains where the Welsh Border and Offa’s Dyke pathway combine. For an easier stroll head across the fields into the village through Michaelchurch Court to the picturesque Bridge Inn.
Within easy reach are Hay-on-Wye, the Brecon Beacons National Park, Abergavenny, Hereford, the picturesque Golden Valley and Wye Valley, Symonds Yat, the World Heritage Site at Blaenavon, Llanthony Abbey, the famous Dore Abbey and the ancient church of St. Margaret's.
