Charming stone cottage situated in an elevated position in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, Views extend across the river wye, herefordshire plateau and beyond. Guests have access to rare unspoilt countryside with footpaths extending across the Ecologically significant Woolhope Dome, comprising wildflower meadows, craggy quaries, ancient woodland and old orchards. There is canoeing available on the river Wye just 5 minutes away by car or 25minutes by foot. Guided fishing trips can be booked with the host, targeting barble and pike on the Wye. Guided nature trails to find local populations of fallow deer or butterfly orchids also available on request.
Cottage has electric wall panel heaters and a wood burner, wood provided f.o.c but electricity charged at cost. Free range eggs and fresh vegetables available on request. Cottage situated 7 miles from the City of Hereford, 9 miles from Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye. Within minutes walking distance from Fownhope Village pub, shop, butchers and hairdressers!
