Location Homer is a small, peaceful village in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, nestling at the foot of Wenlock Edge, with fine views over the Severn Valley towards the Wrekin. Many lovely walks nearby. Homer is only a mile from the historic & picturesque township of Much Wenlock, one of the 'jewels' of Shropshire with its timber-framed Guildhall, 12th century priory ruins, picturesque houses & shops.Dr. William Penny Brookes, its most famous son, played a leading role in reviving the modern Olympic Games. Much Wenlock has interesting craft & gift shops & a pottery. There's a Post Office, banks, newsagent, pharmacist, bookshops, baker, greengrocer, delicatessens & an excellent butcher. General supplies can be bought from two small supermarkets, one of which is also a petrol station. There are several good cafes, traditional pubs & two very good restaurants.
