Vacation Rental Description
A large luxury self-catering holiday house in Wales that can sleep up to 15 - perfect for big gatherings of family and friends. With the feel of a home, and set in beautiful well-kept gardens, this unique property is listed in Alastair Sawday's Guide to Special Escapes and One Off Places.
Llys Tanwg - surrounded by the majestic mountains, rivers and forests of the fabulous Snowdonia National Park - is five minutes walk from miles of sandy beach, and a mile from the famous village of Harlech with its ancient castle, shops, restaurants and St David's Golf Course.
The two flats, upstairs and downstairs, can be rented separately, and there is a soundproof, locked firedoor halfway up the stairs connecting the flats. They can also be rented as one whole house, in which case the door is opened. There is a large dining table upstairs, capable of seating 14.
Upstairs beds: 1 double, 2 twin, 1 single
Downstairs beds: 1 double, 1 twin, 1 bunk
Dining Room
The large dining room has views of the beach and Snowdon - and games and puzzles in the large old dresser. This dresser also displays a fine Chinese style Crown Derby dining service – though sadly it is unusable thanks to all the cracks produced by the bombing of Canterbury Cathedral Deanery, where it lived during the Second World War.
Sitting Room
The sitting room faces south and west with a very large bay window overlooking the sea - the smaller window overlooks the garden and down to the estuary at Llandanwg. The bay window (complete with 5m window seat) is the most wonderful viewpoint in the house, from which you see the entire panorama of Cardigan Bay, right to the end of the Lleyn peninsula, and round to the Snowdonia range, with the beach underneath it, and Harlech with the castle to the far right. It’s like being in a huge theatre as you watch the sunsets. There are comfy chairs for six, an open fire, and colour television with DVD, VHS, cassette and CD players.
Games Cabin
The Games Cabin is built in the Scandinavian style of log cabins, and has heat and light, making it the perfect place for children to spend a rainy day, leaving others with the peace and quiet of the house.
In addition to a range of puzzles and board games, there is also be a full size pool table, table-tennis table (which rests on the pool table, so it is one or the other) and table-football table. It could happily have up to 10 children playing in it at the same time.
Enjoy!
