There are other golf locations which include The Ashburnham Golf Club, which has long been regarded as one of the best links courses in Britain only a ten minute drive away. The Glyn Abbey Golf Course at Trimsaran is a parkland course and is also only a 10 minute drive away. Other local attractions include Stradey Park, home to one of the most famous rugby teams in the world 'the Scarlets', also Pembrey country park ( 7 miles of beautiful golden beaches and forestry) and a Wetland and Wildfowl centre. Llanelli is a coastal town in the county of Carmarthenshire and is a 20min drive from Swansea. Historically Llanelli was originally a mining and tinplate town. It is home to one of the worlds most famous rugby football teams the SCARLETS. The most recent attraction is the new Machhynys golf and country club, the course being designed by Jack Nicklaus. Pembrey is a small town situated on the outskirts of Llanelli, it boasts a spectcular Country Park which consists of 7 miles of golden beaches and forestry with over 500 acres that have hidden paths and dunes, perfect for the romatics.Cefn Sidan beach situated within the park has been awarde blue flag status, it is patrolled daily by lifeguards.
