Y Neuadd Lwyd is a Grade II Listed stone cottage approached along a private drive and has ample off-road parking for 2 cars. The Welsh Tourist Board have given the cottage a luxury 4 star grading.
On the ground floor, the property has spacious open plan living accomodation with beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplace and woodburning stove, modern fitted kitchen and seperate utility room. The lounge area leads out onto an extensive decked terrace overlooking a private courtyard garden which is well stocked with mature shrubs and flowering perennials throughout the spring and summer months with the spectacular Snowdonia countryside beyond. Upstairs, the property has 2 stylish double bedrooms both with modern en-suite shower rooms. An additional fold-away single bed is also available with bed linen for a nominal charge (suitable for a child).
Dolwyddelan is a tranquil and picturesque village with a stong sense of community. Located at the head of the Lledr Valley, at the foot of Moel Siabod and on the banks of the River Lledr. The village is perfectly situated for touring Snowdonia or for simply relaxing and enjoying the beautiful countryside. Dolwyddelan has a Post Office with tea room, general store and off-license, public house which serves food. Alternatively, the busy nearby village of Betws-y-Coed has a number of places to eat to suite all pockets. Betws-y-Coed also has a selection of specialist shops with an emphasis on outdoor activities.
Snowdonia is the UKs first National Park. It is a rugged mountainous region of outstanding natural beauty and renowned for its breathtaking scenery and extensive outdoor pursuit activities - whatever the weather, there is always something exciting to do. Snowdonia has it's fair share of historic castles and churches - 2 of which are within 1km of Y Neuadd Lwyd. The stunning coastline of North West Wales with its safe sandy beaches and secluded coves can all be reached within 30 minutes drive by car. Similarly, golf courses at Betws-y-Coed, Harlech, Conwy and Llandudno are all easily accesible by car.
How to get here - M56 from Machester to Chester, A55 from England following North Wales coast. At Llandudno Junction, follow A470 south through Llanrwst to Betws-y-Coed. At Betws-y-Coed, continue on A470 following signs for Dolwyddelan. After 10km, turn left at the crossroad in centre of Dolwyddelan village and continue for 0.1km. Y Neuadd Lwyd is set back from the road on the right hand side directly before St. Gwyddelan's Church.
Additional information - bed linen, towels and tea towels are included in the weekly rate, however, linen for cots should be provided by guests. Electric wall mounted heaters in all rooms with a log burning stove in the main living area. A large basket of logs is included within the weekly rate of the cottage, additional logs can be purchased from the owner or alternatively from the local shop. Electricity is provided by way of £1-00 coin meter - please note energy costs will differ from season to season.
