Vacation Rental Description
Weaver’s Cottages offers comfortable self-catering accommodation for holidays and short breaks in picturesque south west Wales. Part of a converted woollen mill, it is situated in the small village of Drefelin, on the banks of the Nant Bargoed stream. Here guests can relax in the peaceful gardens, watch the buzzards and red kites circle overhead, walk in the surrounding countryside or visit the National Woollen Museum in Drefach Felindre which is less than a mile away. The small towns of Newcastle Emlyn and Llandysul are about four miles away. Alternatively Dolgoch Mill serves as an ideal base from which to visit the many sights and attractions of the Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coasts and countryside.
Weaver's Cottage is ideally situated for holidaymakers wishing to explore the beauties of South West Wales. Within approximately 40 miles lies a staggering variety of countryside, from the grandeur of the Cambrian Mountains to the wonderful sandy beaches and rocky coves of the Cardigan Heritage Coast, from the green river valleys of the Towy and Teifi famous for their fishing, castles and country houses to the wooded Brechfa Forest with its outriding and mountain bike trails. The area supports a wealth of wildlife with red kites majestically circling in the skies above and dolphins and seals in the sea off the Cardigan Coast. There is a rich artistic heritage - visit Cilgerran where Turner painted and Laugharne and Newport, both home to Dylan Thomas. Those interested in motor sport can visit Pendine Sands where Sir Malcolm Campbell broke the land speed record whilst Swansea is in easy reach with its shops, marina and cultural heritage.
The cottage has a lounge and separate kitchen on the ground floor with two bedrooms (one double, one single) and a bathroom on the first floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, refrigerator and microwave and guests have access to a washing machine, tumble drier and freezer in the separate laundry room.
Off street parking is available for one car.
Although the cottage is equipped with TVs, it does not get TV reception and the TV is for use with the VCR and DVD players provided. We have a selection of videos and DVDs that guests are welcome to borrow. Freesat TV is available in the separate laundry room and, by arrangement, guests may also watch TV in the main house. We would warn guests that mobile phone reception is intermittent due to the position of the mill in a steep-sided valley.
