Barley Cottage is a captivating traditional two story Brecon Beacons stone built cottage with a gorgeous outlook. The impressive parkland setting commands breath taking far reaching southerly views looking down over sunlit valleys and out towards the distant hazy mountains.
This beautiful old dwelling has been immaculately refurbished with oak timbers from The Bwlch Tre Banau Estate and the wood burner in the fireplace provides roaring log fires during the cooler months. The immense charm and character of Barley Cottage has been enhanced by the addition of burnished solid oak floors, Welsh slate and huge oak beams.
This beautiful traditional welsh stone building has an oak beamed ceiling in the large and welcoming open plan living area. The immense charm and character of this most traditional of settings combines the newest modern touches to ensure a supremely comfortable stay.
Floors of are of burnished solid quarter sawn oak and the welsh slate fireplace comes complete with wood burner for a roaring open fire. In the cooler months, under-floor heating throughout keeps it warm and toasty. After busy days exploring the countryside, relax on the hugely comfortable tapestry or leather 8-way hand tied sofas and enjoy catching up with a favourite programme or watch a DVD on the large flat screen TV.
Stroll out of your front door and enjoy the most beautiful view down across the valley below and over to the distant range of mountains on the far horizon.
The fully equipped kitchen is furnished with sleek oak cabinetry, antique handles and a large Welsh dresser for that traditional feel. Brand new appliances include large ceramic hob top range cooker with extraction system over, dishwasher, side by side under counter fridge & freezer, microwave and a white enamel cast iron double sink.
There is a full inventory of small electrical appliances, pots, pans and a full complement of crockery, cutlery and utensils. The laundry equipment is a large capacity washing machine, extra large tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.
All of the bedrooms have the best quality extra thick pillow top mattresses, superb quality 100% cotton sateen 400 thread count sheets and their own en-suite bathrooms. The large master bedroom suite is on the upper floor. It has a 6ft wide super king size antique style pine bed, television, stereo and a cosy corner for relaxing and reading on the cottage sofa by a window.
Bedroom two on the ground floor has a stunning double antique pine four-poster bed, flat screen TV and its own bathroom with large walk in double shower. Bedroom three on the ground floor has television, two single beds, an armoire and dresser plus its own shower bathroom.
Bathrooms are liberally supplied with freshly laundered large white fluffy towels. The oak panelled Master en-suite bathroom has a large Heritage double-ended bathtub, corner shower, traditional style basin, high cistern toilet, bidet and heated towel rail. Bathroom two has a large double shower and Heritage traditional style washbasin plus a toilet with a high level cistern and a heated towel rail. Bathroom three has shower, Heritage traditional style washbasin plus a toilet with a high level cistern and a heated towel rail.

Originating in the 16th Century, this idyllic 104 acre private estate is set amid the rolling hills of Carmarthenshire. The impressive parkland setting commands breathtaking far-reaching southerly views looking down over sunlit valleys and out towards the distant hazy mountains. The Bwlch Tre Banau Estate affords a characterful glimpse into country life and has a long and fascinating history.
Guests at Barley Cottage are welcome to explore all of the estate, including the gardens, parkland, ponds, natural hillside, verdant meadows, riverbank, woodland and the largest privately owned glass and hardwood orangery in Wales nestled into the hillside. Take a leisurely picnic down to the woodland by the river or find a sunny spot in one of meadows. If you are feeling energetic, scale the hill and just sit back and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views out towards the distant mountains and the hills and valleys that surround the estate.

Payments £250 non refundable fee is charged to your credit card at time of booking. This is part of the total cost of your reservation. 25% deposit is payable within seven days of receipt of the reservation form. Final balance due must be received by 90 days prior to arrival. If the reservation is made within the 90 days prior to arrival, the full payment is due and payable immediately. All funds should made payable to LIsted Heritage Ltd. Refunds In the event of cancellation refunds are subject to Listed Heritage's ability to re-rent the property for the dates you reserved. Cancellations, non-arrivals, late arrivals, early departures or alterations that result in a loss of revenue for Listed Heritage will be charged. It is recommended you take out travel insurance to cover the cost of your rental in case of cancellation. Check in/check out times: arrivals, on or after 3pm; departure, by 10 am.
