Main Description
Our stone farmhouse was built in about 1620, just before the English Civil War. Once thatched, it is now refurbished and very comfortable. Four windows had been blocked in to escape the C17th - C18th window tax: these have now been opened with new stone mullions creating light and space within the house. Full of character and history, our house is situated in the most beautiful countryside with extensive views.

The three Bed and Breakfast rooms are all doubles:
Edwards Room has a 6 foot bed with private bathroom with whirlpool bath and separate shower
French Room has a 5 foot bed.
Family Room has either a 6 foot bed or two singles. There are 2 single futon/sofabeds in this room for young.
The French Room and Family Room share a private bathroom with integral shower.
A cot can be provided.

In addition, the Old Piggery is available for self-catering on a weekly or short break basis. This is the most luxurious Piggery you are likely to find with a self contained kitchen and shower room. It has a 5 foot double bed and a sofabed.

We have a suckler beef herd of organic Red Poll cattle. This is an English Native Breed, recently off the Watchlist of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. Beef is available to order. The eggs you eat will come from our chickens who wander around the garden, fields and farm. Everyone remarks how orangey yellow the yolks are.

The long distance pathway from Lyme Regis (soutn coast) to Avebury crosses our land.

The south west of England has many attractions. There are beautiful houses to visit, gardens to see, views to admire, walks to follow. Our guests have enjoyed Longleat, Stonehenge, Bath, Salisbury, Shaftesbury, the coast and have visited the many National Trust properties within 40 miles of us.

We would like you to visit us, either for Bed and Breakfast or on a self catering basis in The Old Piggery.

Our farm is in the most beautiful countryside and you can enjoy a relaxing and comfortable time here. We have a herd of organic Red Poll Cattle on the farm, our own chickens to produce delicious eggs and home-grown asparagus.

We charge £35-£40 per person per night for Bed and Breakfast, but if you would like to stay for 3 nights or more, the charge will be £30-£35 per night. The Old Piggery is also available on a self catering basis for Friday to Friday bookings (£270-£470 per week) or short breaks out of the summer season.

Recently restored, our 17th century farmhouse lies within the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Built in local stone with beams, inglenooks and light sunny rooms, the bedrooms are all large and comfortable. Longleat, Bath, Stonehenge, Stourhead, Salisbury and south coast nearby.

Low Season Price : £60
High Season Price : £80 per Week


Bed and Breakfast charges.
£35 to £40 per person per night.
Single occupancy £45 per person per night.
These charges include a full breakfast.

If staying for 3 nights or more, the prices are reduced by £5 per person per night.

Deposit of one night's stay required in advance. This is not refundable.
Accepted payment - PayPal, personal cheque or cash. Cards are not accepted, except through PayPal.

Old Piggery self-catering charges.
Friday to Friday bookings £270 - £470 per week
Deposit of £200 per week, refundable less £50 2 months in advance. Full amount payable 6 weeks in advance.
