Vacation Rental Description
Detached and on a hillside, Dean Valley Panorama has fantastic panoramic views over the woodland and quaint villages of the Forest of Dean, and stretch as far as the Black Mountains in Wales. Make the most of these by watching the ever changing spectacular sun sets, ideal for photographers or artists, on the west facing balcony, or, after your day of activity, relax in the extra large bath for two. We are situated between Chepstow (races) and Gloucester, within easy reach of Cheltenham, Bristol, The Cotswolds, South Wales and the Wye Valley. An excellent base also for visiting the world famous Severn Bore tides.

The layout is upside down with the living accommodation on the first floor and comprises the lounge, dining room and fully equipped kitchen which are light and airy. The lounge leads onto the balcony with an outside light for enjoying the outside space until late into the evening, where you can relax and enjoy a drink and your evening meal, or sit at the large dining table and admire the views and glorious spectacular sunsets. On this same floor in a small landing area as you go up to the second floor is a further bedroom housing two adult bunk beds that are slightly shorter at 5'6". This space is ideal for a family wishing to share the first and second floor bedroom accomodation. There is a spacious loft bedroom with super king size bed or twin if you wish, en suite with double shower and two matching sinks.

The ground floor leads out into the small private secluded garden, with garden table and chairs and extra seating. To the side of the property is a driveway with parking for 3 vehicles with further roadside parking at the front.

Dean Valley Panorama is centrally heated and well insulated for those winter stays and there is an electric fire in the lounge for an extra boost if required. There is a small selection of board games, a football table and dartboard, DVDs and books for adults and children for those cosy evenings in.

The Forest of Dean, with its 100 square kilometres of woodland made up of both evergreen and deciduous trees, is ideally situated on the edge of the region, with wonderful landscapes and green hills, yet is close to the cosmopolitan centres of Bristol and regency Cheltenham and the cathedral city of Gloucester, which have both historic architecture and modern shopping centres. It is within easy driving distance of Georgian Bath, Stratford-On-Avon and South Wales. The River Severn, with its famous bridges, attracts surfers wishing to ride the Severn bore, and meanders through the region, as does the Wye, in a picturesque valley setting.

It was England's first national forest park and is England's largest oak woodland. It is the perfect place to enjoy spectacular scenery and visit historic buildings, gardens and museums, craft centres and family attractions as well as taking part in a wide range of activities from walking to scuba diving. Take a walk through the forest in springtime to photograph the carpets of magical bluebells nestled beneath the trees and relax alongside one of the unspoilt lakes. This woodland has said to have inspired Dennis Potter, Wordsworth and Tolkien, not to mention J K Rowling, who grew up in the Forest.

The area is perfect for walking, bird and wildlife watching, horse riding, cycling and mountain biking, canoeing and rock climbing, abseiling, caving, off road driving, clay pigeon shooting, angling and golfing and much more...

Yorkley village has two pubs, both serving food, a medical centre, local shop and post office. A tray of tea things will be provided on arrival, along with small supplies of the essentials. We would be happy to do a small shop for you if you will be arriving late and/or are travelling a long distance.

    Hi Paula,
Just to let you know we all had a wonderful time at Dean Valley Panorama. We loved the house - it was so well equipped with everything we could possibly need, and the views and sunsets from the balcony were great. We were lucky with the weather too which meant we could make the most of it. We hope to be back again one day.
Thanks very much. Julie. July 2011

    Owners Profile
Paula A holiday stay that feels like a home from home

Your stay with us will be memorable because we equip our holiday homes with everything that you might need for your time at Dean Valley Panorama. We have had guests who have travelled the world but have still said that our holiday home was the best equipped that they have ever been to in years of travelling!

We think that little bit more about what you might need.

The views from the house are amazing and a video or photograph will never do it justice. You have to experience them to truly appreciate how wonderful it is to relax in the lounge and gaze at the multi coloured sunsets, no one evening ever the same, or to wake up, open the curtains and see nature at its best.

We have been renting our holiday home successfully since 2009 and also have another holiday home called Fuchsia Cottage in the Forest of Dean that sleeps 4 people. We also fully renovate our homes to a high standard which gives you a holiday in a modern, clean and light environment.
