Vacation Rental Description
Summer Cottage, near Blockley, is a luxury 2 bedroom/2 bathroom cottage conversion ideal as a touring base for the Cotswolds or an 'away from it all' country holiday. Perfect for 2 couples sharing, this is the perfect location for wildlife enthusiasts, history buffs, National Trust members, walkers, cyclists, artists and photographers. The 35 acre estate boasts formal rose gardens, a walled garden, deer park and ponds and is delightful. The cottage also has its own private walled sun-trap garden with views of the 17th century Mansion house, the centrepiece of the estate. The estate has been featured on the BBC programme 'Escape to the Country' on a number of occasions. The Cottage is our second home and has been furnished and equipped to a luxury standard with quality furniture, beds, curtains and carpets throughout.

Spacious and bright, the comfortable lounge has a lovely flame-effect gas fire for those cosy nights in. High quality sofas and armchairs, flatscreen TV, DVD, Freeview, CD player, radio, I-pod docking station, books, magazines, jigsaws, games, CDs and DVDs are all provided. Relax on the comfortable sofa with a good book in front of the fire or watch a DVD from the selection provided. The dining table seats 6 on upholstered chairs - perfect for a home cooked meal or takeaway!

Two sets of french windows give access to the lovely sun-trap walled garden and lovely views over the 17th century
Mansion House & Orangery. The garden is pretty and has a patio and table and chairs to dine alfresco or just to sit and enjoy the tranquillity of this perfect spot - listen to the birds singing and the estate clock tolling the hour. Outside lighting means that you can enjoy the garden late into the evening. Do stroll over to the communal walled garden at dusk to see the deer congregating in the park. The walled garden also has picnic tables and chairs. At the front of the Cottage we also have a private pretty railed courtyard area, again with table and chairs and views over the estate - the perfect place to leave your bicycles! Take a morning or evening stroll around the communal grounds which are tended by a team of professional gardeners and enjoy the beautiful location of this hidden gem.
Completing the downstairs accommodation we have a lovely fully equipped cottage kitchen with Neff oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and table and chairs. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with WC and basin in vanity unit.

The upstairs accommodation consists of two light and spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Bedroom 1 has a 5ft bed, a huge range of fitted wardrobes, dressing table and stool, 2 bedside tables and 3 lamps and features lovely views of the Mansion House and deer park beyond. Quality mattress and furnishings and even space to show those suitcases under the bed! Bed linen is provided. Bedroom 1 has an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, heated towel rail, WC and handbasin - a bright room with plenty of hot water and toiletries and towels are provided. Bedroom 2 has a 6ft bed (can be set up as 2 single beds), a french-style wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table, stool, 2 bedside tables and 2 lamps and has far-reaching views over the estate and beyond.
The adjacent high-ceilinged bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC, basin, heated towel rail, toiletries and towels provided.

The reaction we get when inviting people into the cottage is "Wow, what a lovely homely feel the place has - we just want to kick our shoes off and relax on the sofa".

Provided in the cottage is an iron, ironing board, hair-dryer, linens, towels, tea-towels, toiletries & kitchen basics.

There is one allocated private parking space outside the cottage and extra parking nearby in visitors' car park.

Children over 10 yrs welcome. Sorry no pets. No Smoking.
