Right on the Jurassic Coast and presented to a high standard this house offers a wonderful opportunity to explore the wide variety of activities available close by or have a relaxing break where you can be "busy doing nothing".

The house has two floors with a fully fitted kitchen, cloakroom and a comfortable lounge dining room downstairs. Upstairs there is one double bedded room, a twin bedded room and a family bathroom (with a shower over the bath).

The double bed has 4 pillows and a duvet. The two single beds have two pillows and a duvet each. There is also a cot available and bed guard. Sorry bed linen is not supplied so guests will need to bring their own.

Hand towels, kitchen towels and oven gloves are supplied in the rental cost. All heating and lighting costs are also included.

A small sandy beach (Smallmouth Cove) is just across the road from Driftwood, as is Portland Harbour (one of the largest man made harbours in the world). A mile south is the National Sailing Academy where Great Britain's current and future Olympic sailors train and the venue for the 2012 Olympic sailing events. Other water sports are also practised in the harbour such as wind & kite surfing.

The South West coast path is three minutes walk from the house, taking you to Portland one way and Weymouth the other. The Rodwell trail (the name for this part of the SW Coast Path) will take you into the old harbour area of Weymouth. From here you can go on fishing expeditions and dive boats. You can even go on a jet boat around Portland Bill. Crabbing is a popular children's pastime here whilst the grown ups have a refreshing drink from the many pubs and tea shops around. Children also love building sand castles and playing on the beach at Weymouth with its wonderful clean fine sand and safe bathing with lifeguard patrols during the summer.

Both Weymouth and Portland have a wide variety of places to eat from small restaurants serving modern international cuisine to large multinationals. If you want to cook at your holiday home Driftwood has everything you need in the kitchen to do so (although cooking a large Christmas lunch is probably stretching it a bit). There is an Asda in Weymouth along with a Tesco Local. Along the road from Driftwood there is a Co-op, Costcutter and Spar.

If you want a family holiday, a base from which to sail, walk, fish, dive or go fossil hunting Driftwood can be all these things.

A drive west you will find Abbotsbury Swannery, Bridport and Charminister(for great fossil hunting).
