Vacation Rental Description
The Garden Flat is on the ground floor of a Regency House overlooking Lyme Bay , in Lyme Regis, Dorset, in England's first natural World Heritage Site - the Jurassic Coast.
The flat was originally the servants' quarters of Alfred Place and occupies the whole of the ground floor. It is secluded and totally private with its own front entrance. It has been completely refurbished to provide comfortable and totally up-to-date accommodation for two people, whilst retaining its original character, including the original flagstone floor* - of local blue lias bearing fossil imprints.
The Garden Flat is easily accessible to walkers, cars and cyclists, situated on a quiet lane close to the National Trust footpath, which leads to the SW Coast Path, Undercliff Nature Reserve, the Cobb and Lyme Regis harbour and beach. It is also a very short walk into Lyme Regis town centre with its ancient water mill, historic lanes and museums to explore, galleries, plenty of places to eat, and vibrant shops.
Local tourist attractions are easily accessible by car or bus and the flat makes an ideal base to explore the region further - from The Eden Project to the windswept moors of Dartmoor, from surfing to shopping and from visiting National Trust and English Heritage properties to fossil hunting on the local beaches!
The front door opens to a small entrance hall suitable for storing outdoor (wet) clothing and boots; this leads to a larger hallway and beyond is the central hall from which the sitting/dining room, galley kitchen, bedroom and shower room are all accessed.
Guests are welcomed with a tray laid ready for tea or coffee and other assorted hot drinks and cereals. A pint of fresh milk will be found in the 'fridge/freezer. WiFi is available.
A south-facing terrace with sea views and garden furniture is available for guests use; this is at the front of the house at first floor level.
Parking is off-road - there are no parking charges.
