The Owl and Otter centre is approximately 10-15 minutes in the car and is close to Longdown Dairy Farm which offers farm animals and has a ball pit, cafe and gift shop. The village of Lyndhurst has many shops, restaurants, cafe and pubs and is 2 minutes stroll from Burwood Lodge. Water sports including sailing can be fround at Lymington, Calshot and Beaulieu river which are all approximately 20 minutes in the car from Lyndhurst. Skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, archery and many more sports facilities can be found at Calshot. There are many bike hire facilites around the forest and one is based in Lyndhurst being approx 5 minutes walk from Burwood Lodge. Cinema, Theatre and night clubs can be found in Southampton. Horsering is nearby - 10 minutes.
