Bowood Barn was an old stone-built dairy which has been renovated, restored and equipped to the highest standard (4* Visit Britain rating) to cater for the discerning holidaymaker. It is set in the owner’s tranquil flower-filled garden bordered by streams and has its own dedicated parking area as well as a patio with garden furniture and a barbeque.
To ensure year round comfort there is oil-fired central heating as well as a woodburning stove and unlimited hot water. The living room / kitchen has a vaulted beamed ceiling and is a lovely airy room with a reclaimed pine floor and comfortable furniture. There is a colour TV with digital channels and recording facility. The kitchen area is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, full electric cooker and microwave oven. There is also a tumble drier available for guests’ exclusive use. The bedroom has a double bed with duvet and linen. Freshly laundered towels and a hairdryer are also provided. There is a fitted pine wardrobe and chest of drawers with matching bedside cabinets and plenty of ‘work surface’. The fully fitted en-suite bathroom has WC, wash basin and bath with full over-bath shower. The cottage is situated in a beautiful rural setting, surrounded by farmland with woodland walks on the doorstep. It is ideally placed to enjoy all that North Devon has to offer; being only minutes away from Torrington, Bideford, Instow, Westward Ho!, and only a short drive from Exmoor, Dartmoor and the stunning North Devon coast

North Devon has long been a top UK destination for sea-based activities including swimming, surfing, wind and kite surfing, boating, gig racing and many other sports. The beaches are superb and the coastal scenery is unspoilt and stunning in its natural beauty. The cottage is located within easy reach of both Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks and the two major regional towns of Exter and Plymouth are both within 1.5 hour's drive. More locally, both RHS Rosemoor and Dartington crystal factory are located at Torrington and well worth a visit. Torrington itself is an unspoilt market town with its own historical attraction '1646' where the events of the last battle of the civil war, which was fought through the streets of Torrington, are unfolded.

Dogs are most welcome at the property; guests have the use of the owner's well-fenced garden and access to local woodland and fields for exercise. Instow beach and sand dune system (a ten minute drive) is also open to dogs on a year round basis. Access to the Tarka Trail, which is an off-road walking/cycling route, is at nearby Torrington, where there is also a large area of common land extending around the town.

Guests have exclusive use of a bar-b-que and garden furniture on the patio by the cottage, as well as secure off-road parking.

Payment to be made in advance by cheque made out to Mrs S. Overton or by cash (sorry but CCs are not accepted).

A £50 deposit secures a booking, with the balance due 4 weeks before the commencement of the holiday.

There is an additional charge for dogs of £15 per dog per week.

Short breaks may be available at the following rates:
3 nights - 75% of weekly tariff
4 nights - 80% of weekly tariff
5 nights - 85% of weekly tariff
