This lovely apartment is situated within a Victorian, mock Georgian, family house with friendly owners!
Vacation Rental Description
** Non smokers only ** This apartment is situated on the second floor of a mock Georgian house that once belonged to the Heathcoat-Amory family. The property is surrounded by farmland for grazing animals.The owners live in the main house and have a small menagerie of miniature donkeys, pygmy goats and chickens.
The sitting room looks over views of Devon and Somerset - as far as the Blackdown Hills on the horizon.
Pottery teaching studio at the premises for those who wish either to learn or to improve (subject to availability).
Guests have the use of the hard tennis court (tennis coaching available). A new private swimming pool is heated and can be covered, depending on the weather.
The busy market town of Tiverton, which is the largest town in Mid-Devon, is within walking distance. It has its own museum and a 900 year-old castle, the Grand Western Canal with its horse-drawn barge and the National Trust property of Knighthayes Court, former home of the Heathcoat-Amory family, nearby.
Facilities
Our own (heated) outdoor swimming pool is now finished and can be covered for indoor swimming. There is a gymnasium at the bottom of the hill, about a mile away, at the Mid-Devon Leisure Centre. Our hard-surface tennis court, croquet lawn, trampoline, swing and climbing frame are at your disposal. We might also have a bicycle or two to lend if requested. Tennis coaching is available. There is a pottery teaching studio at the premises - ask for details or more information. The Miniature Mediterranean donkeys, the Pygmy goats, the Buff Orpington chickens, Indian runner ducks and our friendly resident (female) Golden Retriever, Matty, are part of the scenery and guests may help with their daily care if they wish! Booking during school holidays are for weekly stays only (from Saturday 4 pm to Saturday 11 am), but we can be fairly flexible during term time - please check directly with us.

Payments can be made in euros EUR or in pounds GBP, at the current exchange rate, by bank transfer. Deposit - one third payable at time of booking and the balance is due 3 months before arrival.
