Vacation Rental Description
The Porter's Office holiday cottage has two en-suites. It sleeps up to four people in one double room and one twin-bedded room with zip and link beds (6ft double). It is decorated in a fresh modern cottage style. The modern country kitchen breakfast room has a wooden beamed ceiling and natural stone floor, with access onto the private dining space offered by the old platform. The light and airy lounge has a vaulted ceiling and gallery landing which offers stunning views from a dormer window. Complimentary warm coloured furnishings help create a calming and serene lounge. The rest of the house is decorated in light airy colours with beautiful soft furnishings.
The holiday cottage bedrooms are located on different floors. The downstairs double bedroom was formally the Ladies Waiting Room and still retains the original fireplace which has been restored. It has a modern wet room en-suite with a cast iron slipper bath while the upstairs double bedroom has a shower en-suite, these are luxuriously romantic bathrooms. Additionally the upstairs bedroom has a skylight in the pitched ceiling, which reveals the overhead night stars.

Tavistock is one of the most delightful towns in the UK and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing; under Cornwall and Devon's mining landscape.
There are various annual events in Tavistock, including The Goose Fair. In April/May every year there is the famous and exciting Tavistock Music & Arts Festival. There is an annual carnival and at Christmas the Dickensian Night is a step back in time to Christmases past. There are many varied and interesting activities in and around Tavistock. Some of the more unusual activities include visiting Countryman Cider a traditional cider maker located in 15th century stables in Milton Abbot. The Barn Climbing Centre offer climbing, bouldering, top roping and leadings. Letterboxing on Dartmoor involves walking across Dartmoor using clues and grid references in the hope of finding the hidden stamp and visitor's book.

For weekly bookings 25% of the total rental charge per week, per house is payable immediately. Short breaks should be paid in full on booking. Any balance should be paid to Old Tavistock Railway Station eight weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday If Old Tavistock Railway Station has not received the balance by the due date, an overdue reminder letter or email will be issued. If the balance is still not received, Old Tavistock Railway Station reserves the right to cancel the holiday booking and your deposit will be forfeited. You will have no claim against Old Tavistock Railway Station for compensation or reimbursement whatsoever. If the holiday accommodation is re-let, monies received by Old Tavistock Railway Station for the re-let holiday, may be refunded to you within 2 weeks after the re-let holiday has been paid for in full, less any costs incurred by Old Tavistock Railway Station
