Oakrest is one of a selection of luxury well equipped cottages set in 42 acres of woodland and pasture with spectacular views across open countryside all the way to Dartmoor. Newbarn Farm is within a beautiful valley close to Paignton, Totnes and Torquay, which borders the South Hams area of South Devon, an area of outstanding natural beauty. 
 
One of three newly renovated cottages (this year), Oakrest is extremely well furnished, offering comfort of an exceptional high standard. Namely two cottages joined together by an interconnecting first floor double bedroom, Oakrest can accommodate up to 12 people. There are three double bedrooms (two of which can be converted into twin rooms if so wished), one adult sized bunk bedroom and the option of converting the smaller lounge into a double bedroom (use of a sofa bed). An extra two people can be put up on z-beds. Surprisingly there are two bathrooms (both with bath/showers) and two downstair's shower rooms - maybe excessive - but luxury! Resident guests enjoy reduced fees for daily/weekly fishing on the property's 6 coarse fishing lakes and also unlimited free use of a neighbouring leisure complex - equipped with modern gym, sauna, steam room and indoor swimming pool. 
 
Guests are free to roam over the land and through the woods, taking in the abundance of wildlife - buzzards, herons, mallards and the odd cormorant are daily visitors. For dusk walkers, sightings of the resident badgers and rabbits are not uncommon. 
 
A firm favourite with children of all ages are our outdoor play areas, one sporting an adult-sized trampoline with safety net, swings, slide and wooden climbing wall, the other play area has badminton, volley ball, cricket practice, golf practice, football, swing ball, kites, frisbees and plenty more!

Oakrest is et in 42 acres of woodland and pasture, within this we have a nature trail which runs through a little copse, home to badgers, rabbits, squirrels, owls, woodpeckers and many other species of birds. All of our guests are free to walk through this lovely tribute to nature. In the spring bluebells are in abudance a truly spectacular sight. The farm also has free range chickens, guests can purchase their eggs and we often have lambs frolicking in the pastures. We also keep pigs in the spring which are killed early summer for sausages and chops which again you can purcahse for your BBQs. We ahve 4 brick built BBQs - three in garden field close to your cottage and a further one down by our largest fishing lake, Mirror. There are six fishing lakes stocked with carp, perch, roach, rudd, bream and tench - all our guests can fish these waters. Clay pidgeon shooting is also available for the sporting types.
