Vacation Rental Description
Honeysuckle Cottage is one of several properies of individual character and style at Stancombe Manor, Sherford, near Kingsbridge, Devon. Set within 21 acres of idylic countryside in the heart of the South Hams, and positioned between the towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth, it is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It's position offers rolling countryside to explore, together with coastal walks, and beautiful beaches for the perfect family holiday. Honeysuckle Cottage is one of a number, beautifully converted from an original Tythe Barn, and offers accommodation to a high standard. The accommodation is on two floors. The first floor having two bedrooms, the larger has a cast iron king size bed, the second having two 3ft single beds. Each room has generous fitted wardrobes, illuminated dressing table, bedside cabinet and large chest of drawers. Carpeted throughout. The bathroom has a jacussi bath with shower over and folding screen, wash basin and WC. There is an additional separate WC and wash basin in an adjacent closet.
The ground floor comprises a recently redecorated open plan lounge, kitchen,and dining area with large dining table and six chairs. Combined TV,video,two sofas. Wall mounted pull down double bed. New wood effect flooring throughout.
The kitchen, replaced in 2008,is extremely well equipped and provides a new large oven, ceramic hob, larder fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave.
Outside, the cottage fronts onto a grassy area, bordered by walls and flower bed with a picnic table and BBQ area for the enjoyment of guests. In addition there is a recently refurbished tennis court, pitch and putt, full sized snooker table, childrens play room with table tennis, pool table, and bar football. A good sized heated indoor swimming pool and sauna complete the amenities.
The attractive towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth are 8 and 7 miles respectively. Closer at hand is the market town of Kingsbridge, reached within half an hour by car, and provides all the essentials. The town has a good sized supermarket, chemist, and a number of Banks. Pay and display parking is found on the quay and at the top of the town. The neighbouring village of Frogmore is approximately 2 miles and has an award winning bakery, village shop and Post Office. There is also a pub which provides good food.
There are a number of exceptional beaches to choose from in the vicinity, and can be reached by car easily.
Slapton Ley Nature Reserve is close by for those who enjoy bird watching, and there is a local farm shop nearby. Two local golf courses can be found at Thurlestone and Bigbury.
Changeover day is Saturday, although owners are flexible outside peak times. The cottage is available from 2pm and guests are asked to vacate by 10am to facilitate cleaning and replacement of linen which is provided. Guests are requested to provide their own towels to include those for swimming.
Facilities
The heated pool provides safe bathing for children but they must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Activities
The nearest golf course is at Thurlestone near Kingsbridge.

Bookings can be made by post, telephone or e-mail. A deposit of 1/3 of the rental is payable by cheque at the time of booking with the balance also by cheque due 56 days (8 weeks) before the commencement of the holiday. Provisional bookings can be made over the telephone and held for a maximum of 5 days. For 2 people who would like to stay in a nice place with plenty of space,the owners would be pleased to discus terms in off peak times. For Christmas and New Year prices, please contact the owners.
