Beautiful countryside views in 2 bedroom mobile home on family run farm near Colyton in East Devon (AONB).
Vacation Rental Description
AT EAST DEVON, between Lyme Regis and Sidmouth, we are a half a mile outside of Colyton, a quarter of a mile off the road (along a concrete private road) on Colcombe Abbey Farm. Colcombe Abbey Farm is a small family run farm, we are predominantly dairy (you are welcome to come and see the cows being milked) with a 130 Friesian herd, a small number of beef animals (45), 1 horse and 1 pony. We have five dogs (a Spaniel, a Jack Russell, a Dalmatian, a Collie and a Huntaway) which are not allowed around the mobile home. There are several chickens running around the farm and you can always hear the birds singing! The two bedroom mobile (size 30ft x 12ft) home sits on a large grass paddock (140ft x 80ft). It is fully equipped, inclusive and has a full valet on change over day. Just outside there is a picnic table, bar-b-cue and a large trampoline.
Colyton area
Colyton is a small historic town, there are 3 pubs and 2 additional restaurants, there is a really old church with hexagon tower, and there is an old oak bark tannery, the only one remaining in the country. There are 2 tennis courts and a playing field. A good fish and chip shop, 2 general stores a very old fashion post office. There is several fishing ponds and golf courses a short drive away.
The West Country / Devon region
East Devon is a recognised area of outstanding natural beauty; there are lots of beaches, scenic views of country side, coast and wildlife. There are many foot paths and coastal walks.

A welcome pack will be provided, this includes tea, coffee, milk and a few biscuits.
Please note changeover is Friday.
New arrivals welcome 3 pm onward. On departure day, please vacate by 10 am.
Electricity, gas and water;
Gas and water are included in the booking rate and the first £5 per week of electricity, after that it is a £1 meter (although usually £5 is enough for 1 week). On long lets ie 1 month or longer gas and electric will be paid by you on a pay as you go system.
Bed linen;
I am happy for you to bring your own bed linen. If you prefer, bed linen is offered at £10 for the first bed and £5 per bed there after. This covers washing and bed making expenses.
Please note that the trampoline is use at your own risk, this is because my insurance company has stated they are to high risk against accidents for them to insure.

Good accommodation (very clean) in really lovely part of Devon. I recommend Beer and Lyme as Lyme has a sandy beach and a good place to eat in the evening. Owner very nice & friendly :0)

Some of the local attractions are, Beer caves, Creally Adventure Park near Exeter, The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth, Race world (go carting) near Exeter, Farway country park, Ford Abbey House near Chard, Shute Barton, a historic national trust house 2 miles away, Burrow farm gardens at Dalwood, Bicton Gardens, Escot wildlife park, gardens and fishery, Axminster Flamingo swimming pool, Golf courses at Seaton, Honiton and Salcombe Regis, the nearest Cinema is at Lyme Regis, the nearest 10 Pin Bowling is at Exeter or Taunton, self hire boats and deep sea fishing off the coast of Beer, Stuart line cruises at Exmouth which tours the Jurassic coast by sea, fossil hunting at Charmouth beach 8 miles away, Torquay is 45 miles, 1:20 minutes drive approx., Exeter is 22 miles, 45 minute drive approx, Taunton is 22 miles, 45 minute drive approx, Weymouth is 35 miles, 1:15 minutes approx.

- Travel Info: How to get there From Colyton travel over the Umborne Bridge ('the blue bridge'), towards Whitford and Shute (on the B3161), a quarter of a mile past the Umborne Bridge, turn left, on to Colcombe Road. Colcombe Abbey Farm is at the end of Colcombe Road. We are easily accessible by road and the views are very scenic. Seaton is the nearest beach 2 miles away. Nearest Travel Links Airport: Exeter: 30 km Railway: Axminster: 6.4 km Ferry: Weymouth: 64 km

To book; Contact me first either by telephone or email to check availability and then assuming the caravan is available, a £80 deposit is required and then at least 6 weeks before arrival date the total balance must be settled. Security deposit; £40 per week to be added into the total. This will be fully refunded on departure subject to the caravan being left similar to how it was found. In the event of breakages these must be declared and a fair settlement will be reached. Cancellation procedure; For any reason should you need to cancel your holiday I will give a full refund if at least 8 weeks notice. If under 8 weeks notice I will do my best to re-let the week(s) and if I can do so I am happy to give a full refund that way also. If anything I have said is unclear or seems unreasonable in any way please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help.

What a lovely location, close to some lovely beaches (Branscombe, Lyme and Burton Bradstock). The highlight was definitely witnessing a calf being born, we were lucky enough to be there at the right time. Feeding the baby calf’s, seeing all the farmyard animals and watching milking was particularly nice for the children. We will be back! Thanks Richard, Sylvia and family for making us so welcome, Karen, Essex.
Great holiday, lots of nice walks/bike riding starting from the caravan. What a beautiful part of the world. Thanks :) Julie and Pete, Bath.
