Vacation Rental Description
This is no ordinary cottage – this is Rock Cottage, a unique 16th century holiday home which takes its name from the projecting rock face upon which it is set. Over the centuries, this well-appointed property holds a secret which unfolds when you step through the gateway and catch your first glimpse of the Helford River and its embracing woodland. There are no other properties in sight – you have it all to yourself!
Now, you may be feeling curious, so wander down to the water’s edge, where ‘Peggy’ our 3.5M rowing dinghy is waiting, the tide gently laps the peaceful shore and the oak trees hug the banks. Catch sight of the Kingfishers flashing across the creek and listen.... it’s only the chit chat of birdlife and fish splashing as they forage for food. Time almost stands still. Meanwhile, the cottage is waiting to invite you in, where from every room you will see the Mawgan Creek in all its natural beauty and enjoy the modern day comforts that Rock Cottage provides. No wonder our guests return so often.

Owner Location Comment
The Mawgan Creek of the Helford River has a peaceful and serene setting. The oak wooded shores hug the banks of the creek where you will see Egrets, Swans, ducks, curlews, terns and many other water fowl. Kingfishers dart across the creek, owls communicate to each other, badgers, foxes, rabbits, stoats all live either in the garden or within the woodland and meadows.
Ornithologists and nature lovers will delight at the many species of garden birds, wild flowers, and moths which can be seen in the garden.
