Review 7202 :

Dear Gill and Ray,
As always things take me longer than I intend them to take! We wanted to drop you as line, as I never got round to writing in the comments book, to tell you how much we enjoyed staying at Cherry Tree apartment.
The apartment is beautifully furnished with everything one could possibly need and want (except for BBC3, only joking Ray, we hope you have managed to get the TV changed). Everything is of good quality as well; we have a thing about frying pans and have stayed at places where the non-stick of the frying pan was last seen years ago or they are so thin that using them is more hassle than it is worth. The whole place is spick-and-span another thing that is very hit and miss.
From your website it looked very nice and beautifully located but the reality is better, again something that it pretty unusual! From the photos on the website it looks like you have made more than a few improvements!
Why have you not got a quality rating of some sort? We’re not experts but have stayed in various self-catering places over the years some with glowing reports and star ratings that do not live up to expectation when you arrive.
Now I am on a roll I will also put a review on Tripadvisor.
Again many thanks and best wishes,
Giles and Renee Braithwaite
Ray & Gill
We would like to welcome you to Cherry Tree Apartment, we love it here and we are sure that you will too! When we came here 8 years ago we were taken with the stunning views that the property enjoys and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
We are a couple in our 50-60's, and we have recently started a holiday rental business in the cottage annexe adjoining our own property. Ray is retired and I am semi retired. As we are on site most of the time, we are here to help and advise you in any way we can, whilst also respecting your total privacy, and making your stay with us a comfortable and memorable experience.
Rhodes Minnis is quiet and peaceful, with little traffic - only the occasional clip clop of horses passing by! There are plenty of footpaths, bridleways, and byways and the forrestry commission stretches from our local West Woods, through Park Wood, Elham Park Wood, Madam's Wood,Fryarne Park wood, Attchester Wood, Upper Hardres Wood and Covert Wood and suddenly you have walked almost to Canterbury!
There is not much in Rhodes Minnis except a farm shop and a tea rooms and a couple of animal sanctuary's, but only 1.50 miles down a leafy lane lies the historic village of Elham where you can find 2 Pub's both serving real ale's and food, a restaurant and a small grocery shop, an ancient church and 43 historic listed buildings.
The same distance the other way takes you to the bigger village of Lyminge, with more shops restaurants and takeaway's.
The village of Stelling Minnis is a short distance further, and stroll over the common where villagers still retain grazing rights, brings you to the Rose & Crown serving real Ales and great value food.
If you like to get about by car these are many lovelly places to visit along the Kent coastline from the White Cliffs of Dover to the historic Oyster town of Whitstable. Inland there are many lovelly villages with historic buildings and ancient churches, all set in the beautiful Kent countryside in ancient woodlands, on pastures and chalk downlands known as "The Garden of England"
We are also well placed for a trip through the Channel Tunnel to the continent, and the new high speed rail link from Folkestone to brings you to London St Pancras in just 50 mins.
We would be happy to answer any questions you may have, just call us anytime.
