Vacation Rental Description
Broadstairs is an unspoiled beach town which came second in a recent contest for the best resort town in the UK. It is directly on sheltered Viking Bay with its beautiful sandy beach, close to a railway station, and all amenities and within easy access of London. and ferries to Europe.
Renowned for its charm, its excellent restaurants, cafes, pubs and ice cream parlours, as well as its sandy beaches and walks, Broadstairs was Charles Dickens favourite holiday place.
The flat itself is in Eagle House, a house of great historical significance, which sits on the sandy beach of Viking Bay... It was built in 1796 and is within sight of Bleak House where Dickens conceived his book of the same name. It is a converted admiral's house where the news was first brought of Nelson's victory over Napoleon.
This unique one bedroom flat is newly refurbished to a high standard, with tasteful Mexican-style furniture. It is fully equipped with everything needed for a great holiday, it even has a dish washer and large fridge and freezer. It has a private entrance which leads right on to the beach with its splendid beach and cliff walks. Although it is on the beach it is also in the centre of town close to shops, restaurants, pubs, ice cream parlours, and all amenities. Eagle House backs on to a cliff and when inside the flat it is as though the town does not exist - no traffic noise, only the sound of sea and beach.
The flat sleeps two to four people and has two comfortable sofa beds in the living room. The bedroom has French doors which lead to the garden and the beach. No need to dress in order to go to the beach, just open the door and there it is. There is a small private patio through the French doors with a table and chairs perfect to enjoy an outdoor meal with the garden as background.
No smoking except in the garden. The property is ideal for children who can run in and out of the flat on to the beach. There is a life guard during the summer months, donkey rides and a small funfair tucked away in a corner of the beach. It is also an excellent place for a romantic holiday with lovely walks, quiet beaches (there are seven beaches close by), and excellent restaurants, some overlooking the sea.
