Vacation Rental Description
Bayside is located right on the beach with glorious sea views. Quiet and peaceful but with easy access to local restaurants, pubs, golf course, tea room, bus stop (take a Round the Island open top bus from just outside), shops, Leisure Centre and of course the beach for sunbathing, swimming and water sports. The village of Freshwater nearby has 2 supermarkets to stock up with groceries, a Leisure Centre with swimming pool, gym and tennis courts, takeaway food outlets and restaurants and shops.Location! Location! Location! Situated on the spectacular West Wight coast, this apartment is genuinely beachfront with access from the terrace straight onto the beach. Freshwater Bay is the iconic tourist view of the Isle of Wight appearing on calendars, jigsaws and tourist information literature.
Rated 5* by Visit Britain the apartment boasts a large, bright and spacious living/dining room with direct sea views through the french doors and is beautifully and comfortably furnished and even has a modern fireplace for those chillier evenings. Furnished in a 'seaside' style featuring painted timber dresser and storage units, tiled floors, blue mats, high-quality extrmely comfortable blue leather sofas (one with recliner) seating up to 6 in comfort, and a lovely wooden dining table and four leather upholstered dining chairs. Mirrors and carefully chosen pictures give a homely feel and a blue-lit modern electric fire gives an extra burst of heat if needed (we have a very efficient central heating system and plenty of hot water).
Wherever you sit in the lounge whether on the sofas or at the dining table you will enjoy direct views of the sea and bay and if you have the french doors open you will hear waves ebbing and flowing up the beach. A real paradise and so rare to have a seafront position like this anywhere in England.
For indoor entertainment we have a flat screen TV with freeview and DVD player, CD player, and I-pod docking station and modern lighting and lamps ensure you can read, watch TV, listen to music or just chill-out with a glass of wine in comfort.
The kitchen is modern and well-equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and all the kitchen utensils, crockery etc you need.
Bedroom 1 has a comfortable 5ft bed, 2 built-in wardrobes, a free-standing wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table, chair, bedside lamps, rugs and pictures - all in a stylish tropical theme. This room is light and bright and has an en-suite shower room with a modern shower and cubicle, WC, handbasin and plenty of storage.
Bedroom 2 has a double bed, wardrobe, drawers, and is decorated in a cheerful seaside theme. This room is also light and bright.
The family bathroom adjoins bedroom 2 and is modern and clean with a corner bath with mixer taps, WC, handbasin, and plenty of storage.
Books, DVDs, CDs, jigsaws, magazines and tourist literature about the Isle of Wight are provided.
I HAVE LEFT THE BEST TILL LAST:
A large covered terrace overlooking the sea and beach is accessed from the lounge. Furnished with wooden dining table and chairs it is perfect for alfresco dining and sunbathing. There is also outside lighting so that you can enjoy the outdoor life from breakfast through to sundown. Enjoy a glass of wine here and watch the sunset over the sea and the reflection of the moon and stars dancing on the water. PERFECTION!
Adjoining the terrace is a lawned area which leads to private steps onto the beach. THIS LOCATION IS AS NEAR TO THE SEA AS YOU CAN GET WITHOUT GETTING WET!
Walk to golf, the bus stop, 2 pubs, restaurant, tea room, the quaint old shop in the Bay, along the beach or clifftop, or for the more serious rambler take Tennyson's Trail right outside.
We also have allocated parking on site. What more could you ask for?
Facilities
The apartment is ground-floor and, in our opinion, suitable for older guests who may be infirm to a degree - please enquire about suitability of the apartment if you have particular concerns in this respect. You can pull the car up in the car park right beside the front door of the building for unloading suitcases and there are no steps to negotiate at the entrance nor inside the apartment. We have an efficient central heating system and an additional fireplace in the sitting room for instant heat and so the apartment is perfect for out of season breaks as well as summer rentals. Bed linens, towels (not beach towels) and complimentary toiletries are provided as well as washing up liquid, toilet rolls, tea towels and general cleaning materials. We have tried to think of everything to make your stay at Bay Side comfortable and memorable and our guest book contains many glowing reviews! This is a very special location.
Activities
The apartment is just across the road from Freshwater Bay Golf Club and there is another 9-hole golf course a 3 minute drive away at the Farringford Hotel (Tennyson's famous home).
The Island is famous for its Walking Festival (May), Cycling Festival (September), Sailing - Cowes Week (August) and Round the Island Yacht Race (June) as well as the Isle of Wight Music Festival, the Bestival, and the Jazz Festival. The IOW is also famous for its Zoo (Big Cat Diary -TV programme), Osborne House (Queen Victoria), Tennyson's home (Farringford Hotel) and its Dinosaur Museum.
It also has a good reputation for fine restaurants- The Hamborough, The Seaview Hotel, The Prior Bay Hotel,etc
From the apartment you can access all activities across the Island from water sports, theme parks, rambling trails, sailing, boat and fishing trips, cycling, local Leisure Centre swimming pool - although swimming in the Bay is considered safe and popular.

Please note that the apartment is STRICTLY NON-SMOKING. Sorry, we do not accept children under 10 years. Sorry, we do not accept pets. Booking is easy. You may make your initial enquiry regarding availability etc by email or telephone and speak direct to the owners. We require a 25% deposit to confirm the booking and the balance of the rental 8 weeks prior to the holiday. We also require a security deposit of 20% (subject to a minimum £100) which is held against damage or breakages and is fully refundable within 10 days of your vacating the apartment in a clean and undamaged condition and returning the keys. We accept cheques, Paypal, or account transfers. Bookings are Saturday to Saturday throughout the season. Short flexible start breaks are available October through March from £100 per night.
