Ventnor is the most southerly of the island’s resorts and is renowned for its mild climate. The resort was developed in Victorian times and is built on a series of terraces with zig-zag roads descending past houses which cling to the cliffside. The sand and shingle beach and esplanade are sheltered from the north by St Boniface Down, making them a glorious trap for sunshine but with tempering soft sea breezes. Fish and shellfish can be bought on the beach where they’re landed and real ale from the brewery where it's made. Sailing, surfing, fishing and golf are all on hand close by.
It is the ideal base for a beach or activity holiday. There are 30 miles of stunning Heritage Coast & acres of Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty to be explored, offering excellent walking opportunities for all abilities.
The island has so many attractions all within a short drive that neither children nor adults should ever run out of things to do.
