This is one of a group of cottages built for coastguards over 100 years ago. These are set by themselves in Hastings Country Park, easily accessible but off public roads. Over 400 foot above sea level with stunning sea views East to Rye Bay and the White Cliffs of Dover and West to Beachy Head. This cliff top, coastguard cottage is set in a protected country park with some miles of coastline and ancient woodland, great walks from the doorstep. Only 10 minutes drive or a 3.5 mile walk west through the park to Hastings and 20 drive minutes east to Rye. 
 
The park with its 650 acres of ancient gill woodland is an outstanding area for birdwatching and migration and very popular with dog walkers.  
 
The cottage was completely refurbished in 2008. It is warm and comfortable with a fully fitted kitchen, bathrooms, a new heating system with a wood burner and an open fire downstairs. The three double bedrooms, on two floors, have sea views and you can enjoy the Dover Cliffs view from the top floor's bath. The bathroom is on the first floor, a bath and full facilities are integrated into the top floor bedroom and there is a lavatory on the ground floor. There is also a double sofa bed in the downstairs living room. All bedrooms have double beds. Two of these can be split into single beds. Outside we have a 120 foot garden backing onto the park and barbecue facilities are available in the summer months. On a clear day France is visible. 
 
Located on the coast between the coastal towns of Rye and Hastings there is easy access to the area's country and cultural amenities. This is a quiet and relaxing location with many facilities readily available and a great base from which to explore East Sussex and Kent.

33% deposit on booking with balance and £150 (usually) deposit 8 weeks before arrival. Payment can be made by a sterling cheque, bank transfer to UK bank account, credit card or by Paypal. Weekly bookings normally Friday to Friday. Christams and New Year rate is £889. Shorter stay prices, for up to 4 days, range from £375 to £500 (outside higher bands).
