A warm welcome awaits at this historic country house built in 1600s with many original features, including wood panelled guests' lounge with inglenook fireplace, medieval four poster suite and oak-beamed breakfast room. Guests have use of extensive gardens with wildlife ponds and croquet lawn. Full English, continental or vegetarian breakfast using local and home-made products either served in the breakfast room or on the garden terrace in warm weather. All rooms are ensuite with either bathroom or shower and include coffee/tea making facilities, etc. Eckington House is set in a rural village close to the historic market town of Lewes, the Sussex coast and the South Downs National Park, with the towns of Brighton and Eastbourne close-by. Places of interest include Glyndebourne Opera House, Charleston Farmhouse (home of the Bloomsbury set) and Michelham Priory. There are many footpaths around Ripe village for walkers and quiet lanes ideal for cycling. A pub/restaurant is within walking distance with many others a short drive away.
