St Margaret's cottage is located in a secluded setting on the edge of Coldingham Conservation Village in rural Berwickshire, Scotland. It has a charming south-facing garden completely walled and hedged, and is in a particularly peaceful country lane with pleasant walks nearby. The cottage nestles in a slight hillside, and the sea can be seen from the driveway, which is lined with shrubs and flowers. Coldingham village is within easy walking distance (300 metres) and there are many sites of interest and amenities nearby.
The cottage has recently been sympathetically restored and refurbished to a very high standard by the present owners. The original features and the special atmosphere of the cottage, which is over 100 years old, have been retained. There are original oil and water colour paintings in the Cottage with a maritime theme.

The "open" fire is a fine Norwegian Stove adapted to run on natural gas so you don't have to clean it out!
The cottage has many original paintings with a maritime theme.
The garden is a special feature with many shrubs and flowers and there is a conservatory with under floor heating so the garden can be enjoyed all year.
The bathroom also has under floor heating.
There is an upper patio area behind the cottage with a view of the sea.
There are two Pubs in the Village, 5 minutes walk away, both serve food.
There is one village shop selling most things but a good supermarket is 3 miles away in Eyemouth
Activities
The Cottage is not far from the River Tweed, one of the most famous salmon rivers in Europe. There is very good trout fishing nearby. Some marvellous cliff walks are close at St Abbs Head, famous for its seabirds and great views.Many historic houses and castles and lovely countryside and border towns in the area. The roads are empty! In the fishing town of Eyemouth you can purchase excellent fresh seafood, especially crabs and lobsters in season. Its fun to wander round the fish docks. Plenty of golf available too. Edinburgh the dramatic Scottish capital famous for its festivals, arts, music, drama,comedy etc is less than an hour away. It has some outstanding museums, art galleries, restaurants and famous pubs. Some of the world's most famous authors live there, J S Rowling of Harry Potter fame, Alexander McCall Smith the creator of The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency series set in Botswana and Ian Rankin the creator of Inspector Rebus.
