Vacation Rental Description
Old St. Michaels is situated in Crieff, a small holiday town on the edge of the Highlands.The town has a good range of restaurants, pubs, banks and small, independent shops including two supermarkets, three art galleries and two good delis all within easy walking distance from the flat. 
 
Other facilities include several parks, lovely walks straight from the town centre, spectacular gardens and Scotland’s oldest whisky distillery. A leisure centre with swimming pool and gym are 400 yards from our front door. 
 
There are lochs, rivers, forests and mountains galore. Nearby are charming little towns like Comrie, Aberfeldy and Dunkeld, which are lovely places to spend a few hours.  
 
Its central location means that Crieff is an ideal base from which to explore beautiful Perthshire and the Southern Highlands. The Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park and the Cairngorms National Park are also easily reachable. This historic area boasts a wealth of Castles and other historic Monuments.  
The towns of Perth (30 minutes), Stirling (35 minutes), St. Andrews, Edinburgh and Glasgow can all be reached by car within an hour while daytrips to the West and East coasts are perfectly feasible. There are also good public transport links to many of these places, so you don’t necessarily have to come here by car.  
 
Old St. Michaels with its generously proportioned rooms, high ceilings and ornate cornices is tastefully decorated to a high standard with many personal touches throughout and is a very comfortable place to return to after a day's exploring. 
 
Entry to the ground-floor flat is via the stately main entrance which leads you into the spacious, central hall. To the right is the large living room with bay-window, beautiful cornicing and living-flame gas fire. The bay-window acts as a real suntrap and the fire is ideal for cosy nights in. There is a large selection of books, some videos and a folder with a wealth of information on things to do as well as walk descriptions and walking maps. 
 
A generous master bedroom with big windows contains a beautiful king-size four poster bed and an extra day bed, so could also be used as a twin or family room. The second double bedroom contains two single beds and is also a comfortable size.  
At the back of the house is a cosy bathroom with WC and over bath shower.  
 
The country-style kitchen with butler sink is spacious, very well equipped and is a great place to enjoy a meal and chat around the big central table.  
 
Our garden is well stocked and part of it is designated for residents’ sole use. 
 
We live upstairs and are to hand to give advice on walks and things to do and will be very glad to answer any questions you may have.

  • The Kitchen is very well equipped for when the fancy takes you to produce a great meal, equally there are several carry-outs in Crieff if you are feeling lazy. There are hot-water bottles, a hair-dryer, iron & ironing board and usually all cleaning detergents are provided too.

  • The food shopping in Crieff is very good. We still have our own butcher, a greengrocer, two delis and an excellent fish shop, apart from 2 Supermarkets. 
    There are quite a number of small to big, famous golf courses within easy reach, two directly in Crieff. Gleneagles is only 20 minutes from Crieff. Fishing permits can be also be obtained in the town.

No credit or debit card payments. ·Overseas Visitors can pay in Euro into our German bank account. ·Entry to the apartment is from 4pm on the first day of the let. The apartment must be vacated by 10am on the last day of the let. Cancellation ·The deposit is non returnable should you cancel your confirmed booking. We will try to relet the flat. If this is not possible,you become liable for the full balance payment. Full conditions will be sent at point of booking.
