Orkney's premier accomodation. The owners won the prestigious Thistle Award for Customer Service in 2006 and with 97% in the VisitScotland grading scheme, the property has been No 2 in Scotland since opening. 
Each ground floor suite incorporates a bedroom (with twin beds or super-king bed?) a shower-room/wc with Matki power shower, and a private west-facing sun/tv lounge with panoramic views over the World Heritage Site.  
On the first floor is a modern kitchen, fully equipped with high-quality German appliances; a dining area with circular glass dining table, and a large lounge with two sofas and a flat screen TV with Sky. 
There are innumerable walks in the local lanes while the 45 acres around the property is ideal for walking the dog. 
There is ample parking,and although only 8 miles from either Kirkwall or Stromness, the accomodation is secluded, peaceful and private. Entrance is by a private door.  
The owners live in the south wing, which is completely separate from the self-catering facility.

For food lovers - with some of he very best beef, lamb, fish and shellfish you will find ANYWHERE in the world.....(you'll find Orkney produce all over the world, but here you get it fresh and a quarter of the price...)  
    But maybe best of all it's a place to chill-out, to escape the rat-race, the concrete, the crowds, the pressures and discover the Meaning of Life. Or some wonderful beer and whisky..Small wonder so many visitors return year after year and small wonder so many of them move here to live.....

    The Cottage is let as a whole unit and the rate you pay depends on the number in your party and the dates you are staying.
