Vacation Rental Description
Taigh a' Bhraoin (Gaelic for 'Broom Cottage') is a luxury self-catering cottage situated on the left just as you come into Letters, a tiny village (or more accurately, a small scattering of houses) situated on the west side of Loch Broom, about 10 miles south of Ullapool.
The cottage, which sleeps up to 8 people plus a baby, comprises four bedrooms (1 king size en-suite, 1 double and 2 twins), a lounge/dining room with patio doors, fully equipped kitchen (with microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher), upstairs toilet and luxury bathroom downstairs complete with sauna.
With magnificent views across Loch Broom and towards Inverlael Forest, Beinn Dearg and the mountains beyond, the cottage is tastefully furnished to a high standard and has a south-facing patio where the panoramic views can be enjoyed. Guests have access to the hills and lochans above, and the pebble shore below (although care is required as the descent is steep). Hillwalking and forest trails as well as more serious climbing can be enjoyed in the area including Inverlael Forest, Beinn Dearg, An Teallach, Stac Pollaidh and Ben Mor Coigach.
The North-west of Scotland has an abundance of wildlife including Golden eagles, buzzards, puffins, otters, pine martens, red deer, seals, dolphins and porpoises, many of which can be seen in the vicinity of Taigh a' Bhraoin.
Ullapool, the ferry port for the Outer Hebrides, is only ten miles away with its restaurants, bars and shops. There is also a nine-hole golf course, leisure centre with swimming pool and tennis courts.
Sea-fishing trips are available from Achiltibuie and boat hire from Ardmair. Permits for local rivers and lochs can be obtained in Ullapool.
Come to Taigh a' Bhraoin and find out the secrets of the North-west Highlands of Scotland. We hope to exceed your expectations.
