Vacation Rental Description
Duirinish Holiday Lodges are set on the north west coast of the Scottish Highlands in five acres of grass and woodland. Just a mile and a half from the idyllic village of Plockton and four miles from the Isle of Skye. The nine Lodges offer excellent self catering facilities for up to 4 or 6 guests in each lodge. Fully heated with well equipped kichens and bathrooms you will find that they make the perfect base for exploring the west coast of Scotland with its wealth of mountains, islands, coast lines an wildlife.
There are indoor and outdoor play areas which prove very popular with children and each lodge has its own TV, DVD player, CD player and radio.
The site is accessed by a private road over our own little bridge. Bordered on two sides by a small river and with woodland at the rear we attract Roe Deer, Pine Martens and many species of birds. With good parking facilities and garden areas with your own seating and barbeque you can be confident that your holiday with us will be relaxing and peaceful.
There are 2 distinct style of lodge. Canadian Log Cabin Style which are all log inside and have the cosy and romantic feel of a frontier log cabin, or Scandinavian Chalet Style which are light and airy. All Lodges are well furnished and equipped - all you will need to bring is food and clothes! The accommodation is split as follows:
One 2 bedroom (both en-suite) Canadian Style Lodge. One double bedroom with bathroom, one twin bedroom with shower room. Lodge name - Scalpay
One 2 bedroom Canadian Style Lodge. One double bedroom, one twin bedroom, one bathroom (shower over bath). Lodge name Crowlin
Two 2 bedroom Scandinavian Style Chalets. One double bedroom, one twin bedroom, one bathroom (shower over bath). Lodge names - Eigg & Rhum
One 3 bedroom two bath/shower room Canadian Style Lodge. One double bedroom with en-suite shower room and two twin bedded rooms with shared bath/shower room. This Lodge has been recently extended and refurbished to provide a large living area and kitchen and a good size deck by the entrance. Lodge name - Rona
Four 3 bedroom Canadian Style Lodges. One double bedroom, one twin bedroom, one adult size bunk bedroom, one bathroom (shower over bath)Lodge names - Pabay, Raasay, Skye, Longay
The local village of Plockton has excellent restaurants, pubs, traditional local music, seal trips and craft shops and galleries. If you want to explore the local area we are ideally placed for the Isle of Skye, Applecross, local castles, the Kyle Line Railway journey, Kintail, the Mam Ratagan Pass to Glenelg and many many more.
